Quiet, nice view, off the beaten path.

Posted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: Quiet peaceful location by the harbor.
Cons: More welcoming.
Location: Not much. Need a car and need to drive a bit to get to anything decent.
Decent experience here. Pluses+ Quiet location, beautiful view of harbor, free self parking, clean. Minuses- A bit far out from central locations (no good restaurants nearby), hotel under renovation. Overall it was decent. We weren't wowed by the staff or anything. Check in/out was easy, the rooms were clean, comfy and super quiet at night. We personally weren't affected by any of the construction going on. We slept in a few days and never heard any of it. Guess it would depend on what you're looking for in a hotel.

Except location nothing is Good !

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: Nothing. except location.
Cons: It should be torn down and renovated !
We reached at midnight - Had a King Size Marina face room booked - were informed that there was a mix up and we were given a common room no Marina. Next day morning there was construction / demolition everywhere outside the rooms [ even in adjoining rooms . There were 20 construction crew working in the walkway !!! Pathetic breakfast - they trick you. The voucher says " continental breakfast". When you have porridge from the buffet as they suggest - they charge you USD8.00 !!!!! nightmarish experience - they can afford to be so upper stiff lip is because they have a good location !!!

Nice hotel conveniently near a lot to do.

We wanted a hotel near the beach without spending a ton of money. The Double Tree is located next to a marina. It is within easy walking of a beach, an aquarium and a great little restaurant. It's within easy driving distance of the Queen Mary and Long Beach. It's clean, quiet and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was exactly what we were looking for.

The hotel that Hilton fogot

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: The exterior
Cons: The interior is poorly maintained, and needs updating. No typical hotel amenities. The restaurant is hardly ever open.
Location: It is on the marina, so the view is beautiful. However, there is nothing to do in San Pedro. It is a very small town.
The Doubletree at San Pedro is beautiful on the outside. it looks like a grand Hispanic estate with beautiful grounds on the marina, but that's where the beauty ends. Inside the carpets are old, dirty and threadbare. The shoe moulding on all of the walls are missing. The furnishings are at least 30 years old. The rooms are large and the beds are clean. But that is the only positive thing that I can say about the inside. The restaurant is hardly ever open. There are none of the typical hotel amenities for customers to enjoy. I chose the hotel because I've stayed in other Hilton properties and expected it to meet those standards, but sadly it does not. I often wonder if the company remembers that it owns this property. A small investment to update the interior to match the beauty of the exterior, would make it a property worth revisiting. Sadly, in its current state, I would not recommend it.

Room was good but still had a bit an old smell about it, and the hotel is under construction. Looking good, but watch out for racoons!

Tha hotel had an amazing location , it overlooks the harbor and the marina .. Infortunatly, it was raining the day of our stay.. I would love to go back in the future and enjoy the ocean view and the beautiful city of San Pedro.,

Under renovation

Posted May 11, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel is under renovation. The Hilton Honors Floor had huge ripples in the carpet, which should be a safety concern, no baseboards, and glasses and trays outside rooms for the duration of our stay. Banging and scraping began early on the day of our departure. I was glad to leave this time, and we stay here quite often. AND....where's the cookies???
