A 'luxury' hotel is about the experiencePosted Nov 19, 2015
Pros: Nice room, pleasant people on the whole.
Cons: The service culture, communications with guests.
Location: V good location if you're doing business with the studios.
I was so disappointed with this experience. I have stayed a couple of dozen nights in hotels this year, and this was the worst of the year. For a 'four star', 'luxury' hotel, I was surprised that there was no mention, or apology, that there would be constant - very, very loud - construction noise a few doors down from my room, all day. All day! It very hard to work there, and it was even loud in the downstairs bar - in fact, even the bar staff commented on how bad it was, and that was before I found out it was actually happening a few doors away from my room. To add to this frustration, the screeching fire alarm went off twice, with no warning, and only when we got to the lobby were we told it was a test. The bar/restaurant service was painfully slow. In the evening, because of incompetence at my check-in, I was locked out of my room because the system was not updated properly. There was no real turn-down service and no replacement coffee. I have stayed in true 4-star, luxury hotels, and this is not one of them. The room was nice - it all looked the part, and the people were pleasant, but there is something fundamentally wrong with the culture of the place that made the experience less than '4-star luxury'.

Just ok. Nice staff, great pool.Posted Nov 17, 2015
Hotel is partially being renovated, eardrum-shattering fire alarm went off (apparently due to smoke from construction) during my toddlers nap and we had to evacuate. Waited about 40 minutes in the parking lot for the fire dept (good thing it wasn't a real fire?) holding shoeless child standing next to my ailing elderly mom, nobody offered us a chair... but we did get a coupon for $30 which covered 2 drinks that night by the pool (we needed it). Staff is otherwise friendly. Pool is heated to bathtub warmth and hot tub was great. Room was decent but nothing special. Room service was excellent. Parking is valet only. A little pricey for what it is, but I would stay there again for the location and a few other amenities. Hope they finish construction soon!

Good Pool, Nicely AppointedPosted Nov 9, 2015
Pros: Pool, room, staff.
Location: See above.
The pool was heated nicely and had comfy chairs for reading. Parking could have been better as valet was expensive, so had to part on the street. Still, easy to find spots in that neighborhood. Fun divey karaoke bar across the street as well as very popular breakfast place. Staff at hotel was very helpful and professional (and good-looking!)

Some staff not as helpfulPosted Nov 9, 2015
Pros: Liked the exercise room.
Cons: Some food and bottled drinks in the room very dusty, hadn't been used or moved in awhile.
The hotel transportation service not reliable. After taking a few cabs, we were told that if we had saved the cab receipt- they would reimburse. I wish I had known that up front. One time the bellman looked at us like we were crazy when we asked if there was a car available to take us someplace, "I'm the only one here and I can't just leave!"

Has gone down hill since we stayed there last.Posted Nov 9, 2015
It cost $76 to valet two cars. My daughter was in a show that night and we needed a place close by to let her sleep. The walls are so thin that we were awakened by children in the next room, which, when I went over to ask them to quiet down seemed to not have an adult present. The staff are rude and couldn't care less about your experience nor did they ask. We had what appeared to be cigarette holes in our curtains and the bedside lights didn't work. On the upside, the bed was comfortable.

Very nice hotel...great location for Burbank.Posted Nov 7, 2015
Pros: Great room. Transitional design. Great location.
Cons: Noise levels. Parking cost. Dining room speed at breakfast.
Have stayed here several times. Very good location for Burbank. Very comfortable room. I really like the design of the hotel. Main complaint...do not get a room adjoining another...the sound carries between rooms badly. Another irritant each time I stay there: their parking is expensive for a suburban hotel and there is no self-parking alternative.

Very accessible to all things to do in LA/Burbank.Posted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Accessability to all the surrounding things to do. It was a quiet and lovely boutique hotel.
Cons: Some of the rooms need updated as far as the plumbing and bathroom fixtures.
Location: Close to Universal and Warner Brothers. We have friends and they live close as well.
I booked the hotel through the website of the hotel itself as I had stayed there previously and had enjoyed my stay. I booked the first half of my stay on the same website and the second half on Expedia. There was a definite notice of treatment when I was an Expedia booking vs. the hotel itself. I received a room that overlooked the main drive to the hotel and it was loud and not pleasant to hear EVERYONE that entered the hotel drive. Last year when I stayed at Amarano I enjoyed the experience which I why I returned. There was such a discrimination with the Expedia booking when I was paying the same price for the room.

Nice hotel. Close to Universal and Warner BrothersPosted Oct 29, 2015
Pros: Close to Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studio. Clean rooms. Not too far from Burbank Airport.
Cons: Upon our arrival, the front staff could have communicated better with us about the readiness of our room. The WiFi wasn't always working in the room.
Location: Close to Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studio
We picked this hotel because it was within walking distance to Warner Brothers Studio and a short cab ride away from Universal Studios. Besides those two places, there really isn't anything else around that doesn't require a car. We used Uber alot, so we definitely saved a few bucks that way. There aren't any great restaurants around that don't require a car to get too. The hotel was nice but pricey. We did have a problem on our arrival. We were told that our room wasn't ready yet, so we sat in their lounge for over an hour waiting. Meanwhile we witnessed everybody else who arrived after us get their room immediately. I then approached another person at the front desk to see if our room was ready yet and he said that it had been ready all along. We waited for no reason. Also the room that they gave us had a large bug crawling on the bed. They believe the hotel staff may have left the windows open while they were cleaning it. Lots of bushes and trees for the bugs to climb. We transferred rooms immediately. No issues after that. LA traffic is really bad, so be prepared when you book your excursions.
