"Juliette was communicative about our stay and breakfast details. She was incredibly welcoming and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and happy. The beds and pillows were excellent, as well as the shower. The office desk was perfect for working. Juliette's breakfasts were interesting, diverse and delicious. "The room was very nice unfortunately there was garbage outside the front door and one of the beds was previously used and blankets not renewed. The staff was very fast bringing new bedding. A bit of discomfort but not a disaster."

"We had a wonderful stay at Mill Bay! The property is as described: has a comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, sunroom, and equipped food prep area. A helpful responsive host. Top highlights: the beautiful views and access to the beach, back yard hangout area overlooking the bay, and a great proximity to Mill Bay shops and the wharf. Would happily visit again."

"Our family of six stayed on the boat for five nights recently. There was ample room and the beds were comfortable (even the fold-out couch). All bedding plus extras were provided so it decreased my packing. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of hot water and water pressure in the showers. There were enough washrooms and showers to accommodate all of us. The boat is much bigger than it looks from the photos & it does not rock much at all. The sights from the deck: seals, otters, jellyfish, even small squid one evening, are very entertaining. This is a memorable type of holiday. The kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayak and having a ride on the skiff when Johan ferried us all to a great beach down the way. Feel free to contact Judy prior to boarding with any questions as she will provide the answers and it’ll give you a better idea of what to bring, etc. We enjoy some adventure mixed in with our vacations & staying on the boat definitely checked that box!"

"9+ out of 10 — A wonderful place to stay! We stayed at Steps to the Ocean for a full week, and honestly, we wished we had booked more time. The suite was spotlessly clean, modern, comfortable, and exceptionally well equipped. It had everything we needed, including a fridge, stove, coffee maker, kettle, and a great selection of small appliances. The hosts even provided ground coffee and a large variety of spices and fresh coffee cream, which was a very thoughtful touch. There was also a large flat-screen TV, along with an excellent assortment of books and maps to help us explore the area. The beautiful yard, patio, and BBQ area made the property even more enjoyable. It was a great place to relax after a day of exploring. The hosts were very welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and inviting, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The location was excellent as well — approximately 45 minutes to downtown Victoria and about 45 minutes to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, making it a convenient base for exploring Vancouver Island. We would absolutely recommend Steps to the Ocean and will definitely book here again. A fantastic stay and easily 9+ out of 10!"
