Cozy and very clean inside and out. We booked the room with a fireplace. The property was spotless and very well maintained. The room was perfect for a weekend get away. Room was clean and comfortable. The location is within walking distance of dining and shopping.

For a no frills, off the road motel, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. As the saying goes, never judge a book by it’s cover. To start things off, the staff at the front desk was very nice and made us feel so welcome. He had a table full of a variety of soft drinks and told us to help ourselves. Very refreshing after a long drive! The room was nice and had everything we needed. Though it wasn’t a luxury 5 star hotel, it had that pleasant, small town feel that made us feel...

Is it better to stay in a Mortimer motel or hotel?
Motels and Hotels have different perks. When you stay at a motel, you’re likely to find free parking and an outdoor pool. Staying overnight at a motel, can be handy when requiring easy road access. You’ll often have access to your room from outside, and directly from the parking lot. Hotels generally have room access from inside the building. Motels are also often less expensive than hotels. The word “motel” was coined in 1925 by the owner of the Milestone Mo-Tel in San Luis Obispo, California.
