"Convenient suite hotel in mid-town east. "
We needed a suite hotel to pick up our son after he had day surgery and then bring him home the next morning. Shelburne was a very good choice. The location on the east side was easy to get to. The housekeeper was very pleasant and helpful. The room we were in could benefit from some updating, but we did see maintenance was going on the whole time we were there. Perhaps they had not gotten to our room yet.

"Handy for the Office"
I was in town to manage an office relocation, the hotel is 2 blocks from the new location. Everything I needed was close to hand - a hardware store, a deli & a decent pub (I'm English). Staff were courteous and friendly. I had a West Tower room and waking up to the reflection of the sunrise from the Chrysler Building made up for having to get up at that time.

"good position to access all of NYC"
its a great hotel, used three times now, it was close to being perfect just the usual couple of silly things that should have been avoided, I had booked two rooms, strangely had the same experience with both, ordered ice from reception for pre evening drinks from the mini bar, waited 20 minutes called again waited another 15 no ice arrived, was also surprised was there for 6 nights and the mini bar was not refreshed? the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent and would highly recommended. would stay again and possible pre order ice with booking! :-)

I wouldn't consider this a 4 star hotel. Things are a little dated but how much time do you really spend in your room? the location is great and the staff were awesome too :)

"Great service at a central hotel to Times Sq"
Great hotel...with excellent service. Our room was not ready on late arrival...we were put into a smaller room but given 7 days worth of breakfast vouchers for our party of four. What I call great service. And rooms all sorted the following day. Hotel currently has scaffolding, so looks ugly from the outside...but is great inside. Well recommended

"Amazing"
Amazing. Amazing staff and concierge, wonderful guests who stay there, and great service most of all. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade us to the presidential suite during our stay and it completely changed our entire trip to New York. We told them that we were celebrating a certain occasion and it was such a thoughtful gesture on their part. Truly, could not have nicer things to say. The location of the hotel was amazing, a ten minute walk to central park/park avenue. Loved every minute there.

"Great location and the staff is very great!"
I love their location and the staff is very great! It is central to Times Square but it isn't noisy outside. The lobby is very nice and welcoming. Right next to the subway for easy access. I have stayed here multiple times. Good stuff!

Fall in Love With New York

The best time of year to visit New York City is during the fall months. From September to mid-November, the weather isn’t too cold, and you’ll be able to see the beautiful foliage in bloom. Even if you’re staying in the heart of the city, you’ll still see all of the orange and brown leaves from the trees that line the streets. Central Park is the ideal place to visit during the fall, so you can take in the wide variety of trees, flowers, and birds. The park makes for the perfect romantic getaway as you’ll be able to take a relaxing stroll through the area or rent a rowboat. This pristine weather is also perfect for travelers who love cycling. Some of the hotels in New York even offer bike rentals as one of their services. During the winter months, you can take a ride on one of the local buses that can take you to one of the ski resorts north of the city.

Taste What New York Is Made Of

While you’re staying at one of the New York resorts, your taste buds will be on the trip of a lifetime as well. You’ve probably heard rumors that New York pizza is better than anything you’ve ever tasted, and when you eat at one of the local pizzerias, you’ll see why. As you walk through the concrete jungle of New York City, you’ll see an endless amount of locally owned pizzeria serving delicious slices as big as your head. After trying one of the city’s famous slices, you’ll be able to visit some of the most popular attractions, like Times Square. In this area of the city, you can spend an entire day people watching, shopping, and seeing a Broadway show. For a more scenic and historical adventure, you can catch a ferry out to Ellis Island to visit the Statue of Liberty. During your stay in New York, you should familiarize yourself with the intricate subway system, so you have a cheap transportation option when you want to explore the city.

Book a Resort With the Right Amenities

Expedia.com will help you find the perfect resort that has amenities to make your stay as convenient as possible. You’ll be able to find all-inclusive resorts with on-site restaurants and spas, or you can stay at a more family-friendly resort that has multiple pools and game rooms for the children. Many of the resorts in New York provide shuttle services to nearby golf courses, so you can go out and practice your swing while you’re on vacation. If you’re looking for a night of cocktails, dancing and mingling with the local New Yorkers, you can stay at a resort near Times Square or Madison Square Garden, which gives you easy access to nightclubs and bars. Some of the New York resorts have lounges that host happy hours or wine events, so you can enjoy a nightcap without having to leave.

    Local Geography

New York City is mostly flat, which made the city perfect for constructing skyscrapers and other buildings. You won’t have to travel far if you want to go hiking and enjoy nature because Upstate New York is only an hour away. Here, you can visit Harriman State Park, which is covered in colorful trees, and you can spend a day out on the lake. South of New York, you can plan a day trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or the Garden State, New Jersey. If you’re looking for some diversity during your trip, each of the Five Burroughs of New York offers a unique atmosphere, and they are easily accessible by way of subway or taxi.
