Once a fine motel, but obviously aged.

Pros: Price
Cons: Age of the furniture
Location: good location
The American Inn was undoubtedly a top-notch motel 50 years ago, but has seen some of the ravages of time. There have been some improvements done in the last couple of years, but they weren't necessarily done well. It was a satisfactory place to stay at a reasonable price.

Dirty, uncomfortable beds, and lots of bugs

Posted Sep 1, 2011
I found spiders and a dead cricket between the comforter and the top blanket. The hotel staff was good and changed the room, but the other room was just as dirty but less buggy. The curtains are too long for the A/C to get the air out into the room, so I had to safety pin the curtain up. Not a comfortable place to stay at all. For 20 dollars more I could've stayed at a much nicer place. That's what I will do next time
