"Great location and a wonderful place to stay"
I LOVE this historical hotel! It's beautiful and the staff is wonderful and and very helpful. The history in the hotel is so interesting Even though the rooms are somewhat small, we three ladies managed fine and had a wonderful stay!!

"Very nice hotel and the walls were too thin"
The location and the staff could not have been better. The room was large enough and well appointed; however , either the walls between the rooms were too thin or the people next to us were the loudest, most obnoxious guests ever. We had to call down twice and I'm not sure if security ever visited them.

"Beautiful hotel in a great location."
We had a wonderful one night stay. The hotel has an incredible lobby. The perfect place to grab a coffee/cocktail, small snack and people watch or read your favorite book. The staff was polite and attentive to even the most minuscule detail. The rooms were spacious with a bed that was the most comfortable hotel bed I ever have slept in (I travel a fair amount for work and have visited over many, many hotels). The gym was phenomenal with classes offered for those who prefer more interaction when working out. And the location can't be beat, next to the Common and within walking distance to all the great Boston sites.

"Location location location "
We stayed 2 nights as a family of 4, the room was clean, fairly quiet, and comfortable. We did have an issue w our room safe and maintenence was there immediately, fixed the issue &was super nice. Front desk and valet were expeditious. The hotel decor is a little dark, and perhaps, lacks the little warm touches of extra service, but overall a great choice for location and place to stay in this area of Boston.

"Renovations "
The hotel itself was good. Very clean and in a central location. I just wish someone would've told us it was under renovations. I was so looking forward to the roof top and its view, and it wasn't available.

"Beautiful hotel and room; but not really clean"
We thought our room was really beautiful and the staff was very helpful; but on our second day after the room had been "cleaned" there was a giant hairball near the bed...and another one in the towels--it looked like part of a hair extension might have fallen out. The night before we had ordered room service -- and it was really overpriced - a fruitcup, side order of rice, and glass of wine--totalling $50.00. After the hairball incident -- the hotel knocked $25.00 off the food bill. Overall the stay was very pleasant--the hotel is near many great tourist attractions and restaurants and the room itself was spacous and lovely. I would stay there again because I assume my visit was an aberration...the gym was very nice also.

"Centrally located"
The Boxer is an older hotel but it's central location and fantastic staff make up for the glossiness of a new hotel. We're pleased with our decision to stay there and would gladly return.

"Finally a hotel that isn't a motel in disguise!"
Had never stayed in this hotel before. Very pleasantly surprised. Valet parking functioned smoothly. Elegant lobby. Friendly reception. Floor landings and corridors didn't have the dreadful motel look and feel one finds so often in so-called 5 star hotels. Everything appeared and sounded solid. Front room had spectacular view.

"Great downtown location with easy access to Back B"
In Boston for a two day visit. The hotel is in the perfect place for walking around the city. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a cut above most hotel fare. The bar featured craft cocktails and a fun atmosphere.
