Neighborhood overview
Friendship was a very wealthy neighborhood built up in the 1890s heyday of Pittsburgh steel boom. In the depressed 1970s these beautiful large family homes were often divided into apartments but many have since been remodeled into original large family mansions. It's now a mix of families and young professionals working at CMU, Uber ATG, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), Apple and the many local hospitals.
Getting around
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: We are just a few steps from a great coffee shop, a new sports bar/restaurant, Yoga Hive, and Glass Blowing Art Studio. A 10 min walk gets you to Whole Foods, Rite Aid, Aldi, several really good restaurants, the Ace Hotel, and Downtown East liberty. Less than 20 of walking gets you to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Bakery Square, Trader Joe's, West Penn and Children's hospitals, the Bloomfield Strip, and the top of Lawrenceville. Buss lines crisscross all around us giving you single bus access to CMU/PITT, Downtown, the Strip, or Butler st, etc. Uber (and EATS) is very active and gives you click or a button inexpensive roaming of our great historic city.
Other things to note
This is one of 3 almost identical studios in this large home. All are soundproofed and newly equipped with Smart Locks, Lighting, In Floor heating, Individual super quiet AC minis, and 48" Vizio SmartCast TVs for your entertainment pleasure.

Great location - quiet street, yet you were only minutes from many attractions. The place was impeccably clean and comfortable. Check-in, in the formal sense, was not necessary as the owner sends a detailed email with directions on entrance to the building and checkout directions. It’s my understanding they are available by phone should you need something, but I did not require their services. As for noise, while I could hear others in the building, it was not at all disturbing and it was very quiet at night. Overall it was an excellent experience - a much better vibe than your typical hotel experience. I would definitely stay there again! The only concerns that may bother some people: 1) small bathroom that was hard to maneuver for us ladies that like to do their hair (hint - I used the small side table from the living room), 2) no elevator as it is a remodeled, but gorgeous older home 3) the owners ask that you remove your shoes by the door to lower the spread of germs. There are shoe trays outside and inside the door of your apartment. None of these items were really an issue for me. The hardest part was getting all my luggage up the steps as I was traveling alone and was heading to a second destination after Pittsburgh, so I was NOT traveling light. Still, an elevator would not suit this place so I’ll be happy make multiple trips, especially when the rest of the experience is nearly perfect! Highly recommended!

Fantastic location and great host!
This was a fantastic location! There is a wonderful coffee shop half a block away and it was an easy walk to other places we wanted to try. The bed was quite comfortable and the fans and AC worked very well for how hot it was outside during our stay. The keypad entry was easy to use as well. The host Natallia was so good about getting back to us and accommodating us last minute when we had flight delays. We are so thankful to have found such a cute place and will definitely be coming back to stay in the future!

Charming space
Lovely converted older home - studio was immaculate and everything we hoped for. Nice location. Air conditioning was a godsend in 90 degree plus weather. Bathroom was tiny, but adequate.
