Center of MariscalPosted Nov 14, 2015
Pros: Charming, helpful staff, central location but quiet.
Cons: Cabinetry in our room was too old and had an odor and we didn't use it.
Location: Central location to dining establishments but be wary of walking around at night.
Centrally located, walking distance to a lot of dining establishments. On tree lined street. Building is old and cabinet and plumbing facilities are too rustic. Lobby and breakfast area are very charming. Staff is helpful and pleasant although speaks little English. Lead staffer, Veronica is great and communicative.

What's Not to Like?Posted Aug 24, 2015 on Hotels
I'm almost afraid to rate this place, because if it gets too popular, will I still be able to get a room again? . . . Actually, I shouldn't even use the term "room." The "rooms" are quite spacious, especially if you pay a few dollars more and graduate to a 35 sq. meter palace, like I did. Good sized bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, patio balcony. It's not a room. It's a small apartment. One review I read before I went there said the place was "squirky" and antiquated. I don't understand how that's a negative. If your architectural tastes are such that you insist on 21st century contemporary design, then don't stay here. But if you value having your "space," with good, attentive service at a reasonable price, this is the best I've seen in Quito since I first visited in 2000 (before moving here). Now if I need to be near the airport, sure -- I'll get a room in Tababela, instead. But if I have business near El Centro, this is the place to stay, hands down. It's close enough to Foch Plaza to walk and eat whatever you want, and it's far enough from "las farras" to enjoy the peace and quiet. It was a wonderful two-day experience. It's where I'll be staying from now on when in Quito on business.

Pros: Gostei da localização, conforto e atendimento.
Cons: A água do chuveiro custa a esquentar.

O hotel é muito bem decorado e tem instalações muito confortáveis. Quarto amplo e muito confortável. Limpeza impecável.

Good location large roomPosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
Needs a little tender loving care. Breakfast a little strange, however better than nothing perhaps should advertise that breakfast is only one egg and a cup of coffee or black tea!!! Cleaned up quickly did not have the heart to ask for an extra piece of bread!!! Don't know if this is normal for Quito??? Bathroom and toilet set up very strange, however room quite large, but we did pay for it being large. Internet included in price but only worked intermittingly

Mejor deayuno con mínimo costoPosted Jun 30, 2015 on Hotels

Great location, huge rooms but quirkyPosted May 10, 2015
Pros: Location, English speaking staff, beautifully furnished, huge living area
Cons: Separate upstairs toilet was initially quaint but could become annoying for an extended stay. Internet was patchy.
Location: Plaza Foch is THE restaurant spot in the new town.
Central position close to Plaza Foch but still very quiet. Great security with locked gate and solid security shutters on windows. Also makes it wonderfully dark at night. Our room had a sunny private balcony (handy for drying clothes). Lovely, friendly staff, who closed the shutters and turned lamps on before we returned late afternoon. Rooms are clean and huge but quite unusual. Ours had an upstairs toilet in the room and a living area on another level. Apparently every room is different.

Friendly staff, clean large roomPosted Apr 20, 2015
I sincerely enjoyed my stay and will be staying again. The staff was friendly and attentive. I arrived late, wanting a beer for nightcap, The host direct me to the nearest pub. The next night there was beer in my room refrigerator :-) I found everybody to be a gracious and helpful. The hotel itself is charming, clean with Old world charms
