"Historical cool hotel super close to the ocean"
Stayed two nights there and had a relaxing time. The hotel is very cool due to its history and location. The adjacent cove is really a neat place to walk to from the hotel.

We were impressed by the effort that had gone into restoring this hotel and delighted with the result. Staff were warm and friendly and the location was an excellent choice for conference goers.

THE US GRANT, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Diego

326 Broadway, San Diego 92101 - Map
"Beautiful downtown hotel conveniently located"
The US Grant is a beautifully maintained downtown hotel within walking distance of the Gas Lamp Quarter, Little Italy, shopping and the beach. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was not ready for check-in when we arrived at 5:00 pm. We were given a generous credit to relax in the Grant Bar and Grill while we waited. When the staff still couldn't accommodate us in the time promised, we were upgraded to an elegant suite with many extra perks. If our travels bring us back to San Diego we will definitely stay at the US Grant Hotel again.

Four Points by Sheraton San Diego Downtown

1617 1st Avenue, San Diego 92101 - Map
"Great location, easy to get places, nice room!"
While the exterior of the hotel could use a facelift, the inside of the hotel is modern/updated. The inside of Four Points is the same as the interior of other more expensive hotels in the same downtown area. BEDROOM AREA: The comforters are so comfortable and warm. There is a nice sized arm chair with a floor lamp for reading. Lamps have three brightness settings, allowing you to finely tune the light in the room. While there is no coat closet, the armoire is just as accommodating as any closet would be. Furthermore, the drawers provide plenty of storage as well. The TV was a new model, good quality. The complimentary coffee in the room was tasty (not the best, but not the typically horrible hotel coffee). RESTROOM: There are soap, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in the shower (don't have to deal with opening/closing tiny travel shampoo botels). The water promptly heats. One huge plus was that there was a lighted, double sided vanity/makeup mirror with great magnification. Also, the blow dryer provided is good quality-- not a compact one with minimal drying power like many hotels provide. THE ONLY BAD THING about the bathroom was that the sliding door, while stylish, does not provide much privacy. I could definitely hear everything going on in the bathroom while my boyfriend was in there and I was on the bed. AREA: Within nearby walking distance there are nice shopping areas and restaurants. From short walks to 1.5 miles, we found great eats while walking about!

Courtyard by Marriott Old Town

2435 Jefferson St, San Diego 92110 - Map
"Good location"
The hotel is 10 min walk from the old town transit center where various transportations can be found. Also during the walk, you will pass by the old town, which is also a tour sightseeing. However, maybe it's because it's under construction right now, it is noisy and dirty, I saw dust coming out of the heater when I turn it on, and he coffee machine is not cleaned. The staff seems busy all the time.

"Great Old Town Location, with caveats.."
Love staying at this hotel, but the wifi needs to be updated. There are 7 buildings going up the hill and the further you get from the lobby and the central hot-spots, the worse/non-existent connectivity gets. Restaurant on site gets crowded for dinner so make reservations or walk down the hill for a plethora of dining options. Skip the breakfast buffet and go into town.... Location also convenient for taking train into Gas Lamp or Little Italy or all the way to Qualcom, which is the main reason we stay there.
