“The lovely Hotel Villa Santa Catarina is Guatemalan-owned. Beautiful two pools, great view of the lake, and a short tuk-tuk ride to Panajachel. The restaurant on site is fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room was spacious - no A/C, but not a problem with the cool lake breeze at night.”

“This part of our journey through Guatemala was to stay at this hotel and relax, and we did just that. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, but be prepared to climb stairs and steep inclines but not to worry, they are very accommodating with the one golf cart they have for the guests. The food was excellent and the staff went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect. Henry and Jonathan at the restaurant on the upper level were amazing. “Definitivamente es barato, pero no porque sea barato debe ser asi. No es nada en contra del señor David o su familia. Si son amables, pero llegue a las 2, incluso acorde la llegada y aun asi llegue y el lugar no estaba listo, entras por callejones que no se ven muy seguros, no esta bien señalizado el lugar, además de que no hay regadera, es bañarse a jicara con agua fria. No tuvieron la habitación lista hasta casi las 4 pm. La habitación es muy rústica, techo de lamina, huecos por donde se meten……

“The most amazing view. We spent a lot of time just at the hotel because of the gorgeous view. You can also use the kayaks free of charge. Very close to the boat deck and very kind and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast was also included with our reservation. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was delicious”

“The view of the hotel ia mind blowing. The rooms are cozy, warm and clean. I would love to stay there again. You need to know that the surroundings of the hotel have change, is more developed so that means more noises... But nothing too loud to handle. The food service is terms of food, everything is so good! But it's slow, in my opinion it goes well with the idea that you go there to relax and enjoy the view... So just be aware that it might take a while. You have other hotels nearby……

“Beautiful property in a great location. Food had no flavor at all, and was very bland. Bring enoigh cash as they dont take card. If youre canadian, you have even less payment options. I tried exchanging usd to Guatemala currency, but they dont accept anything less than $20 bills. ”

“Nada de mantenimiento en la habitación estuvimos 3 días y nunca nos limpiaron el cuarto ni votaron las basuras ni nos dieron papel ni jabones , la cama de la habitación súper incómoda, no tiene ni aire acondicionado ni abanico. La vista es buena y los desayunos buenos también ”
