On the positive side the shower was great, powerful and hot.
Unfortunately the tiny single room was not at all restful due to the huge overwhelming patterns on the wallpaper and which are also throughout the property. There was an ironing board propped up in the room together with an iron, but no hook anywhere to hang things up. Had to hang my coat on the curtain tie back hook.
The cooked breakfast was a mixed experience. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before, the instant I sat down in the morning the breakfast came and was taken away again when the proprietor saw that I was having cereal first. Both mornings the bacon was very hard as if it had been cooked the night before and re-heated. There had been a strong smell of fried food when I arrived late evening.
The bed had a plastic mattress cover on and whilst I appreciate why they are used it made the bed very uncomfortable and unpleasant to sleep on so I took it off.
I found the whole environment much to busy, lots and lots of ornaments, personal photos and the huge patterned loud wallpaper everywhere.
It was disappointing that the dining room had no window in it especially given the beautiful position and potential views from the property.
Disturbed at night by other loud guests in a neighbouring room, moving between rooms and calling across the landings to each other.
Everything clean but overall not the most welcoming or relaxing place.
