“The building need a lot of work. The floor was swollen in the bedroom and it made noise as you walk on it. Lots of traffic noise from the highway. Tons of light from outside in the bedroom. It was difficult to understand the personnel.”

“I am not an overly picky person when it comes to hotels as long as the rooms are clean and comfortable, but this is not a hotel I would ever recommend. The friendly, blonde young man at the front desk was remarkable and passionate about his job. The location to the highway was very convenient. Those were the only good things about this hotel. There are no working elevators and the hallway downstairs smelled horrible and sour. Everything is out of order basically...the downstairs bathrooms,……

“Since June 2026 this hotel is not accepting third party bookings. It should be removed from Expedia’s offerings. We ended up staying due to the late hour, but I had to pay the hotel and then contact Expedia to remove (I am still in the process) my Expedia charges. The overall of this hotel is so poor that Rodeway and Choice would do well to remove it from hotels they endorse.”

“My adult son and I were in the area for the NASCAR race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, about 30 miles away from the Surry Inn. The hotel was very accommodating to our late-night arrival. Our room was clean, quiet and perfect for our weekend stay. This is the 2nd year we have stayed at the Surry Inn and will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.”
