"Old-fashioned, near-luxury hotel in good location"
A friend and I stayed five nights at this older hotel in excellent location on "The Path" and next to Union Station in downtown Toronto. It was very clean and comfortable, with full services, good restaurants. Nice view. Near lots of shops. Our requests were readily met, such as getting a small fridge. Staff very pleasant. Bathroom and closet a tad small. HOWEVER, there were quite a few strange glitches in regard to the bill. First, we had not been told that $100 per day would be charged to my credit card "for incidentals," which would be refunded later if we had not incurred expenses. Unacceptable not have told us, outrageous in that of course hardly anyone would incur such costs and the hotel uses this gimmick to collect probably huge interest. Not only that, but there had been three additional mystery charges, including one for large quantities of vodka!! No vodka at all imbibed by us. All this is supposedly being fixed but I recommend that travelers check their credit charges closely.

"Wonderful hotel, but there is no real Spa"
This hotel exceeded almost all expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel. Rooms, breakfast, food at the restaurant, swimming pool, gym were all amazing. The only negative was the "Spa". A windowless room in the gym, with room for only one guest at a time is not a true spa. There were no foot baths, but only a metal bowl to soak your feet. The chair to sit on was an old dining room chair with a ripped cushion. There were no dryers so our nails were ruined within hours. The charges for the mani/pedi were outrageous considering the atmosphere. Upon complaint, the manager Roberta was very understanding. She certainly made up for the disappointing Spa experience. A big thank you to Roberta and her team for for a relaxing week and great service.

"Great downtown hotel"
The Cosmopolitan was a great experience. They had my room available early and upgraded me to a suite! The staff were very polite, hotel is close to downtown and Union Station (UP Express is only a 10 minute walk), and was a very quick walk to Eaton Centre. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice.

beautiful hotel that offers many amenities that are affordably priced. courteous and helpful staff do regular calls to check up on any and all concerns you may have. having the staff reach out to you to ask if you need anything is something special and unique to this hotel. the bellhop will help you bring your luggage to the room and offer to show you how anything and everything in the room works, including the radio integrated into speakers in the room.

Great stay. Staff were wonderful and extremely thoughtful. We were going to see the Book of Mormon and the staff sent up a note with a bowl of truffled popcorn to enjoy before the show. Amazing:) The only downfall was the hottub was not working and had black stuff coming out of the jets. They really needed a sign on it to say do not go in because when I went to tell the spa about it, they said it had been like that for a while.

"Nice and friendly hotel with some classiness"
Cute hotel, lovely staff, and decent view of the city. Finishing in the hotel look nice, but could use some TLC. Door handles are lose, the bed moves a lot, and floor was sticky. The elevator can be heard and can be annoying. Parking is very annoying, so i find it best to park a street or two behind (free parking). Overall, I still like the hotel and still recommend it because of the overall experience. You can't nitpick too much, but it is a hidden gem.
