Novotel Toronto Centre

45 The Esplanade, Toronto M5E1W2 - Map
i went to Toronto to attend a concert. It was important that the hotel be close to Union Station for access to UP and GO train service, and to the Air Canada Centre. I chose the Novotel firstly because of location. I have some mobility issues, but it was within relatively easy walking distance of where I needed to be. The front desk staff were welcoming, quick to help me get my bearings, show me on a map the easiest way to get where I needed to be. I did not go to the restaurant. My room was comfortable, clean. I stayed for 6 nights, and enjoyed my stay.

Pimblett's Downtown Toronto B&B

242 Gerrard Street East, Toronto M5A 2G2 - Map
"A Good Bet for The Curious & The Flexible"
Pimblett's has low curb appeal. It's a bit run-down on the outside, on a scruffy street in a transitional neighborhood. The first impression on entering is the sheer volume of STUFF in the house -- sort of like staying in an antique shop. But this lends it a certain Victorian charm -- it's a one-of-a-kind experience. If you want the uniform blandness of a Holiday Inn, stay away from Pimblett's. However if you welcome eccentricity, chatting with and learning from the genial innkeeper, Geoffrey, give it a try. Everything works & our room (The "Library") was reasonably clean albeit crowded. The breakfasts are English-style (eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast, potatoes, etc. -- you won't leave for the day hungry). The location is perfect for exploring in and around Toronto -- streetcar a block away -- and there are several excellent restaurants close by. Limited parking is available at no cost, a bonus in downtown Toronto.

"Great Small Hotel on Dundas Near Yonge"
Staff was friendly, room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and good value for Toronto. We stayed in one of their newly renovated suites. Breakfast at Freshii's, which was included in the room rate, was delicious and is located on the ground floor of the hotel.
