“Very welcoming stay, gave us privacy and clear instructions, very clean and good water pressure. The gate and couple made me feel safe and secure while traveling as young woman. Would 100% stay again. Located close to the volcanos and black sand beach.”

“The space is beautiful inside and out, we struggled with the gate lock the first couple of times we used it, it started to loosen up the more we used it. The frogs come alive at night and give you a symphony. If you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping bring ear plugs. We will absolutely stay here again.”

“This property was so cute and the perfect size for a couple. The proximity to Volcano NP is a highlight point! It’s exactly as described in the post and the dehumidifier was a game changer. We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re back!”

“Wonderful cottage nestled in a rainforest setting, far back from the road. It was clean, comfortable, ample towels and bedding/blankets. Every room had night lights and switches were clearly labeled. Perfect for two couples, matching en-suite bedrooms. And so close to Hawaii Volcanoes NP, made it easy for us to be there early. Sorry we didn't plan a longer stay. ”

“We had such a wonderful stay. The home is beautifully built, well maintained and we felt right at home. The host gave so many great recommendations and showed how much she cared from our arrival to departure. We highly recommend this home and stay in Volcano being so close to Kīlauea was great. We loved being in the quiet mountains and enjoyed our time around the home with peaceful outdoor space as well. We hope to return again one day! ”

“The ohana was absolutely beautiful with original artwork and other decor that msde it feel like Hawaii inside and out. We loved the outdoor tub and everything in general was comfortable and well situated. No issues finding it, though I could see how it may be difficult to find in the dark, the owner's instructions are clear and pictures help guide you. Awesome smashburger stand just 8 minutes away. Highly recommend.”

“We LOVED our 2 night stay here. It was so relaxing and exactly what was described. It was a bit of nature, fruit trees and peace. We had excellent communication with the hosts. The outdoor shower was pretty cool. We really can’t say enough good about it. Will 100% stay here again when returning to Hilo side of the island.”

“We had a wonderful time staying at Mark's place and visiting the NP. Mark is a great host and was invaluable in alerting us to the latest eruptions. Thanks to him, we were able to witness the eruption on July 9th, which was an amazing 1,200 foot tall fountain of lava. You can really tell that Mark put some thought into the cottage and its amenities. We had everything we needed for our visit. Highly recommended!”

“Great central local position on a great quiet street. Bit warm downstairs as we couldn’t turn the fan on but have the light off at bedtime for the kids. Close to airport, shopping and places to eat. Place was very spacious. ”

“It was the perfect place for me and my husband to stay for our honeymoon. I loved hearing all the Coqui frogs at night. It was so pretty and green. The owners were very easy to get ahold of. They were very quick to help when our oven stopped working. Definitely recommend staying here for a quick trip. ”

“What a wonderful retreat! We loved everthing about this visit. Property was clean, host was delightful and the rainforest ambiance can't be beat. Cute hot tubs and dipping tanks in the rainforest lent itself to unique experiences for us. Would recommend!”

“This property was unique and we're so happy to chose to stay here.Pros: The views are incredible and the outdoor living spaces were very comfortable - in particular we spent a lot of time on the high top chairs, sofa bed, and two person dining table. The kitchen was fully stocked and operational with everything we needed. The bedroom was perfectly sized and comfortable. It was so easy to access Manini Beach (you can walk). By staying in Captain Cook you have a much more "locals" experience....

“The location is great as long as you have a car for the short trips to town and the ocean. Check in was easy, just keep in touch and it's easy.The fresh mangoes and abundant colorful bird activity were highlights. Even though not in the listing, there were a variety of snorkel gear in good shape for use, along with chairs and beach towels. There's also a blender for use in making fruity rum drinks (or others as you wish).The screened deck area was where we spent most of our time watching the...
