Be aware that it’s 13 stairs from the front of the building to the duplex front door, then another 13 stairs to the second floor area with the only couch to watch TV. You’ll need two codes: one for the building and another for the apartment. We were unfortunately left waiting in the rain for about 20 min waiting for the building code. Pics accurately depicted apartment. Had plumbing issues with slow infilling toilets in both baths but...

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. There were two things I really liked. The first was that there is a quiet time between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. We've all stayed in hotels where there is a loud party going on in the room next door. The second was the ability to cast from your personal device to the TV, so you have access to every streaming service you pay for.. a very nice feature. I would definitely stay again.

We were just on an overnight away from home so didn't bring any phone chargers with us. But my wife's phone started eating away the battery and we knew it wouldn't last until we got home. She asked at check-in if the hotel had a charger we could borrow. The guy checking us in said he had one out in his car that would work and let us borrow it to charge the phone. Service above and beyond what is expected!

Great staff, beautiful aesthetic and charming. We happened upon the Briar Barn looking for a quaint place to sleep for the night. This place was beyond our expectations and we are already planning another visit, with friends, to stay and see the sights of the area. We are New Yorkers and were so impressed by they service, the cleanliness, the vibe, the amenities and the space. We will come back and recommend to others.
