“We didn’t mind our stay, but there are things that should be given some attention. The shower is very tight and toilet is in a very tight space. So Do away with the closet and expand The rooms are clean and staff was helpful when we needed anything. The beach view once you make it over the dune was awesome! lol Very clean and quiet!”

“It was an older property that they are doing some updating. The heater didn’t work in our unit so they provided a portable heater. It was noisy outside our unit so it was difficult to sleep in,in the morning. They had painted the mop boards and there were paint spills on the floor. Breakfast was good.”

“My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.”

“They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”
