"The room was clean and appeared updated. The remainder of the property could use a refresh. It would also have been nice to have had our room heat turned on and the refrigerator turned on prior to our arrival. I understand conserving energy but it would have been a nice touch to turn on the fridge and heat prior to guests arriving. Breakfast looked nice but with gluten allergy we would only be able to partake of the sausage and yogurt. Not the responsibility to account for all allergies, though if there were eggs of some sort it would have made the breadfast an option. Overall, considering the size of the Grayling, the Days Inn worked for us. Great bed and pillow and clean. It checked the most important boxes. Thanks. "

"I never write reviews on anything. I always try to be positive and be the one who looks at the glass half full instead of empty.. but with this place I had to write one. This property would’ve been a great place to stay in the early 90s. Everything was so outdated, which is fine with my family and I if they kept up on cleaning the property and rooms. We had burn holes in one of the bed linens. One roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. Disgusting place. Pool was cold. No hot tub. Staff was alright. Asked for a later check out we were told 1230. We had a cleaning lady open the door up at noon without knocking first. Scared the crap out of my daughter. Then the lady wanted to proceed to argue with me telling me nobody from the front desk told her we were checking out late. I hope they figure it out, Sooner than later. It really left a bad impression on ever staying in the grayling area again. I would drive right past this town and stay in Gaylord. "

Everything about the design of the home is so well thought out. You can tell the owners put a lot of care and intention into creating this place.For example, the entire home has heated floors. There are large windows everywhere, bringing in tons of natural light. The décor is gorgeous, and the home strikes a perfect balance between cozy and functional. There is great technology for relaxing, including huge TVs and comfortable chairs, along with quiet spaces that are perfect for reading or working remotely.The bathrooms were incredible, with three beautiful showers and a huge bathtub.We also saw deer roaming constantly in the wooded area behind the house, which added something really special to the experience.I had a couple of questions during our stay, and the response time from the host was extremely fast.The house is close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough out to be peaceful and quiet.The dry sauna was amazing. It was my first time using a wood stove heated sauna, so it took a little learning at first, but once I figured it out it was incredible.Thank you for sharing such a beautiful home with us."

"The house was amazing. Very cozy. We have been skiing at Shanty Creek for 30 years. Our group commented that this rental was the best place we ever stayed. Peaceful. Comfortable. Well equipped. Kara, the host, is fantastic. I recommend this place. "

"We had a very disappointing experience with this property and feel obligated to warn future guests.When we arrived, it was immediately clear the unit had not been cleaned from the previous guests. When we pulled back the sheets on the main bed, we found multiple types of hair under the sheets along with visible stains. Hoping it was just that bed, we checked the spare bedding, but all of it was also dirty, stained, and covered in hair.We pulled out the futon hoping it might be usable, but it was covered in dog hair and sand from previous guests. At that point it was obvious the unit had not been properly cleaned between stays. We also found both live and dead bugs in the unit.We attempted to contact the host and reached out to VRBO through their platform while we were there. After getting nowhere and realizing the property was not in a condition to stay in, we left after about an hour and booked a hotel instead.The next morning the hosts messaged us through VRBO agreeing to a 100% refund, but when we attempted to get the refund they denied it. Despite the written agreement, VRBO was zero help resolving the situation.The listing’s claims about cleanliness were misleading, the unit was clearly not cleaned between guests, and the hosts went back on their promise to refund us. I would strongly recommend avoiding this property."
