“Lovely hotel, lovely room, friendly staff. Recommend to book the three course menu (changes regularly) for dinner at the hotel. I had venison ragout and rack of lamb as main and both were superb. Dinner room is a cosy place, good wine list. Dinner was preceded by some drinks at the hotel bar which, for the size of the hotel has an excellent selection of spirits at very good value-for-money prices. You select your breakfast choices in the evening from an offer ring of various fresh juices, tea……

“The property was easily found by using a Sat Nav. The property inside and outside was very clean. There is a narrow gravel drive up to the property so Parking was in the village square which was a short walk around the outside of the pub, so not recommended for disabled as there is also steps up to the entrance door. The entrance was a wooden decking which had a range of colorful potted plants and well maintained. The owner was very helpful with directions and places to visit and eat……

“Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x”

“A great little find in Brixham, I contacted Pip before my arrival asking for a early check in and he was very obliging and when I did arrive early I was treated to an upgrade. A great location only 10 mins walk from the town centre. Fantastic breakfast and a great host. I will be sure to come here again if i am ever in Brixham or near by. “Booked a valley castle room w king bed for one night in late Sep. Room was very clean with comfy n up to date decor. Room was big enough and soundproof quality was good. Big garden surrounded hotel n we took a pleasant walk the next day. Should have stayed for one or two nights so as to enjoy swimming pool and other facilities. The historical building was well maintained. Very pleasant stay ”
