Noise

Easy to enjoy. Some of the tenants are older and set in there ways. Husband was on the phone by the pool and his voice carries and is loud. He got lectured about that. We’re kind of on edge about noise and such. We are quiet and non parties. Didn’t complain about a jack hammer going all day on the next door unit.

Great view! We saw humpback whales breaching from our balcony. Close to a lot of Poipu locations. Would stay here again.

Awesome view!!

The view was amazing! In the first two days we saw whales, spinner dolphins, turtles and monk seals. The kitchen was well equipped except for a cork screw. Had to go buy a cork screw. We left it so future renters don't get here after traveling all day and find they can't open their wine ! Overall great place and a very nice pool area.

Great Location

Had a great stay here with beautiful ocean views. Very quiet area, but walking distance to beach and a few restaurants. My wife's only complaint was there could have been more toilet paper/shampoo, etc...I would return to this unit in a second though.

Beautiful views

Great property. Bed and furniture comfortable. Views of ocean and palm trees from the living room, bedroom and lanai were gorgeous. Watched the sunset every night from the balcony. Kitchen well equipped.

Island Paradise

Spectacular views from fifth floor balcony. Well appointed the kitchen, but no dishwasher. Comfortable bed; good shower. Cool breezes us through the apartment. Would be happy to stay there again!

Stayed there one night and left

We booked the property very easily. When we arrived the check-in was a bit to do as we had to go by a rental agency to get the keys. Not a big issue. It is a 5 story walk-up which was also not the best. The real problem is that there is no AC in the unit. We have a baby and this was not going to work. The only way to cool the apt off was to open the windows to which was road noise, people outside, etc. We tried to tough it out but had to leave. We let the property manager know and asked if we could get a partial refund - to which we have not heard any response. We had to book another room last minute that would be better suited for us.

Sunset Kahali 506

Fabulous getaway. Thank you. Unit has nice updated kitchen with everything you need and niceties like turtle cabinet knobs, convenient washer and dryer, ocean view with balcony and comfortable island vibe, safe and quiet building among older neighbors, and is walking distance from resorts. Location car dependent.

Popiu view

Enjoyed the view. Kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans.for cooking. It's an older building and noise does carry when you are on the balcony. A little musty, but after opening the windows was much better. Would be nice to have a sofa you could sleep on. Not real a one bedroom, more like a large studio. We did whale watching from this 5th floor unit. 4.5 stars!

Anniversary Vacation

Booking process and communication were excellent. Having previously stayed at Sunset Kahili, we understood the building is a bit dated but well-maintained - and the location is amazing! Overall we were pleased with the unit but noted a few minor items that should be addressed. Even so, we would stay here again.

Poipu condo

I would definitely stay at this condo again!!! Loved having the washer and dryer in the unit!! Condo was like home away from home! Easy short walk to beach and restaurant that had and awesome happy hour(s) and food! Location was so central to all we wanted to do and see!

Great value in Poipu

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Sunset Kahili 506! It is a great location in Poipu, close to the beach, shops and restaurants. There is a wonderful ocean view from the condo, however, I would hesitate to call it oceanfront. From the lanai you look down onto the pool and parking lot, then beyond that is the ocean. It's still wonderful, and I loved sitting out there every morning with my coffee. Just be aware, there is a little more in your view than just the ocean. It was also nice that this condo faced South, it does not get the direct afternoon sun, so it doesn't get too hot and you can still enjoy the lanai in the afternoon/evening. Also, if you keep the windows open you get a wonderful cross breeze, which helps keep it cool, even on hot days. We really appreciated the ceiling fan directly over the bed, too. We were able to sleep comfortably because of that. Plus, you can fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves. Overall, clean and comfortable. Nothing too fancy but it suited our needs well. The kitchen was well equipped with appliances/pot and pans. I brought some basic spices, etc from home and I'm glad I did because there wasn't much in the condo. There are also a few beach chairs and an umbrella that are available for use, although, the umbrella should probably be replaced. We would definitely stay here again, overall a great find. Mahalo!

Good location, but in need of an update

My husband and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on accommodations for our first trip to Kauai since we planned to be outside and we found a good, last minute deal here over Thanksgiving. The water views from the unit and balcony are lovely, but there is a parking lot and another complex between you and the water that you don't see in the listing pictures. The entire complex is in need of an update. The living area and bedroom of the unit itself appear to have been updated (although the couch and chairs are very uncomfortable), but the kitchen and bathroom are badly in need of an upgrade. We likened it to if your grandparents had a place at the beach. There was a general musty smell and we rewashed all of the towels in unit. We also had major fruit fly issues in the unit and in the elevators each evening. Overall, the view in the distance is nice, the bed is comfortable and it's centrally located to Poipu and Koloa so it's all you need if you plan to spend most of your time out, but we likely will not stay here again.
