Enjoy a day of fun on the water in this small suburb of Austin located on Lake Travis and the Colorado River.

Lakeway offers a completely different Texas experience from its busy neighbor Austin. Lakeway is located on the shore of the Colorado River. Take advantage of all of the scenic outdoor possibilities it offers, from fishing to boating to tubing.

Begin your explorations of the Colorado River at Lakeway Marina. Choose from a full range of equipment to rent, from motorboats to paddle boards. Go waterskiing or Jet Skiing. Have fun in the sun on a party boat.

Enjoy Lake Travis and all its recreational possibilities. The reservoir, which was built into the Colorado River in 1942, stretches nearly 64 miles (103 kilometers) long. Go fishing and see if you can catch the largemouth bass, catfish and sunfish that are in abundance in Lake Travis. Dive in for a refreshing swim Lake Travis is renowned for its crystal clear water.

Check out the many parks located around Lake Travis. Use the boat launch at Mansfield Dam Park to put your canoe or motorboat in the water. Go windsurfing or scuba diving at Bob Wentz Park. Join other bird watchers at Dink Pearson Park. Hippie Hollow Park, located on the eastern end of the lake, is known as one of the few legal clothing-optional parks in Texas.

Lakeway has a surprising number of parks for its size. Find something to suit your interests at the play areas, trails, sports fields and more of the waterfront City Park. Follow Lakeway Boulevard Hike and Bike Trail all the way through town. Walk among dramatic geological features at Canyonlands. Take your family or your pet for a hike along Hurst Creek in the Smith Greenbelt.

Enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery of Lakeway and visit nearby Austin for a lively cultural scene. In less than 45 minutes, drive to possibly the most hip city in Texas. From world-renowned museums to trendy restaurants, Austin has attractions to appeal to everyone. Attracting top talent in jazz, blues, rock, country and more, the state’s capital is also known as the “Live Music Capital of the World.”

Pubic hair on shower head, hair on towels, hair on utensil towel. Food and excursions were way overpriced. Definitely not coming back to Lakeway Resort, if it can even be called a resort.

I kept thinking I was in souls Southern California. Look, I love Austin. I lived there for a decade. But I had to go to a funeral in Lakeway so I stayed at the closest, reasonably place I could find. I made a huge mistake.

I've never been to a hotel that didn't allow kids in the hot tub. I'm not a picky person at all. That amenity should be accessible to everyone.
