“The staff were friendly and welcoming with knowledge of the local area, which was handy as I needed to get taxis to and from Catton Park during my stay! The foyer area is large and open which felt welcoming and relaxed and it was clean and tidy. My room itself was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and big shower. I also had two meals during my stay which despite not being amazing were still nice and value for money. Overall, a pleasant stay.”

“Check in at this pub-with-rooms almost didn’t happen as, after being told for 9 minutes by staff that “someone” was coming to hand over the room key, I was ready to walk out and find somewhere else. Eventually the unapologetic omanager arrived and issued me with a key to a room in a terrace of rooms down the side of the car park. I checked for CCTV cameras as the area did not look that secure, there were plenty of them which was a relief. The room was OK, the bed looked clean though the carpet……

“Very dated but convenient location with good parking which is why we used it. Breakfast was very poor for the cost: temperature of hot food was not great. The fish n chips was more overcooked batter than fish and the Ribeye medium was overcooked. They run a Fawlty Towers event, felt like that was less of an event and more the reality of how that hotel is. We would use again due to location and even with no cooling in the room not even a fan supplied it was bearable but would not waste hard……
