The premises of the temple has a large wooded area, which has been designated as a national treasure. It really is beautiful all seasons throughout the year, but especially gorgeous as the various momiji (Japanese maple) leaves turn bright red and yellow. The fall foliage season is late November to early December. Entrance fee is 500 yen (totally worth it, trust me!) Closest Station: Hibarigaoka Sation on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. The premises of the temple has a large wooded area, which has been designated as a national treasure. It really is beautiful all seasons throughout the year, but especially gorgeous as the various momiji (Japanese maple) leaves turn bright red and yellow. The fall foliage season is late November to early December. Entrance fee is 500 yen (totally worth it, trust me!) Closest Station: Hibarigaoka Sation on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
