This was an amazing place to stay. EVERYONE is friendly. The room is clean. The bed is huge and comfortable. The air gets so cold. The rooftop bar has BEAUTIFUL views of the city. We have been to New York City many many times over the years. This hotel was our very favorite overall. We stayed at fancier ones. We’ve stayed at National chains. The personal care and attention you get from everyone at Hotel Scherman has been unsurpassed. While my husband would have preferred bacon and eggs biscuits and gravy for breakfast, the kids and I were very happy with the complementary continental breakfast. Great location and the staff were very friendly. There are so many things within a walkable area. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. There is some construction inside going on, but it was never an issue. The rooms are very quiet and you can barely hear the street noise. The rooms are smaller, but that is New York. It was a good size to relax after a long day of exploring and get ready for the day. The staff were very nice and helpful. The area was very safe. I would definitely stay again....

I really enjoyed my stay. If you're looking for a quiet place - this is not it, though. You can hear the street noise. It's New York, after all. Just mentioning this as I noticed it, but quickly got used to it. The location is great. Near subways, restaurants, Broadway. Almost everything is walking distance away. The room is good and a welcome respite from the busy-ness of the city, but we didn't spend much time in it, because there is just way too much to see and do and too little time.

The only thing I didn't like was the parking situation, but understand it's NYC and parking isn't always convenient.

This was one of the few times that we got to our room before housekeeping was done. The smell of Clorox was affirming in that I felt like the bathroom was REALLY sanitized before we got in! IT. FELT. CLEAN!!! And housekeeping was not one person doing everything; it was a team of cleaners going over the room! OUTSTANDING!!! Wonderful desk staff, too! Great location; convenient to the Javitz center. Walkable to everything else in the city (MTA, mid-town, etc.). And it was QUIET! ...

Nice bakery for breakfast.

I stayed here recently with my husband and daughters and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was absolutely perfect! They had even upgraded us to a suite!! We had absolutely no complaints and will be staying here again on our next visit!

Travel to NY often. The Arlo always is a great stay. Clean, smells amazing, good vibes, friendly/stylish staff, great decor, reasonably priced. Just do it. Stay here. Perfect for solo travel.
