“Breakfast was from Walmart, not many choices. Curtains had some holes. There was no air conditioning on when we arrived. It took a while to cool down.”

“The facilities are quite outdated and needed for a renovation.”

“The bed was the most uncomfortable we've ever slept in. The shower had mold in the drain. The water pressure in the shower was terrible and kept going in and out. The hot tub was out of service.”

“Staff wouldn’t answer messages when an issue happened with the booking.”

“Older property. We had to move rooms as the air conditioning leaked and there was a huge fan drying out the carpet. We moved to the next room over. We could still smell the mildew. We turned on the air and smelled mildew. Luckily it was not a typical hot humid Iowa day and we were able to open the window. The staff was excellent. This property definitely needs TLC. I would not stay here again. We were going Ragbrai bike ride so we had no other choice as other hotels were booked. I……

“Overall, not bad for the price. But, the carpet in the handicapped accessible room was in horrible shape and we had to make sure we kept socks or flip flops on when walking on the horrible ancient carpet. I do think they were getting ready to replace it with wood lament.”

“I appreciated that the floors weren’t carpeted. Would like to see that at more hotels.”

“The place is well-decorated, quaint, clean, and quiet. Nicole was very kind, cheerful, helpful, and welcoming, which made our stay very nice and relaxing. The spot is also very convenient, being near to downtown where all the shops are, being next to a small park you can jog at, but still being far away enough from establishments so you have a nice, quiet evening. It was great, I would come back again.”

“First thing noticed upon entering the room was the bathroom toilet. It was obvious that the "moving" ... loose stool had been stabilized ... attempted to ... by use of chalking. CAN NOT BE DONE. The stool not only moved up and down left to right, it also had noticeable movement front to back. I let the front desk know upon receiving a text from the hotel as to my "satisfaction" which I replied to on Saturday. I also stated the hours I would be out celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary thus……

“Stay was good, Although the family was woken up at midnight when a couple guys opens the door. I always latch the door at night but they yelled into the room waking my wife and two kids. Staff said there system made a mistake however apparently they didn’t check ID cause the room was already occupied. I’ll be calling the manager!”
