"We had a very quiet, peaceful two nights at River Retreat. Thoroughly labeled kitchen (and beyond) was well stocked for morning coffees on the beautiful deck overlooking the backyard and river. The beds were comfortable (a rarity) and the space was perfect for four adults. We enjoyed the gentle freeze and sound of the river, so close to town yet private and quiet. Dellene was easy to communicate with and very responsive to our needs."

"Horrible experience! The house was filthy! Towels and washcloths were old, worn and mismatched. Bedding on queen bed did not fit the bed. Bunk beds had no bunkieboards and cheap mattresses. Dishes were sparse, random and put up dirty. Outdoor hedges are overgrown and house is hardly visible from the road. Vrbo refunded our money, but weren’t able to find somewhere else for us to stay on an already stressful weekend, as we were in town for my 10 year old nephew’s funeral! We will likely never...

"Visiting from Long Island to see my daughter’s friend who moved to SC. Property was perfect. Accommodations were comfortable and we had everything we needed to prepare some meals. My husband enjoyed doing some fishing and relaxing on the deck. We made a trip into Greenville to go to Falls Park, shop and have dinner. We enjoyed the Landrum farmers market, Looking Glass Creamery and All Good Things bakery in Tryon. No issues with checking in or out. Would definitely recommend and would come back"

"They hosts thought of everything you would need for a week-long stay! Our stay was not the vacation we had planned due to a medical emergency with my husband. Our adult children surprised us with their presence and stayed with us on the property. Host was wonderful, brought us fresh picked strawberries and flowers. We are coming back in September! Highly recommend A+++"

There is a church on one side of the property and a business on the other. The business side had a compressor that went off several times a day. The entire place is outdated but again, I saw that from pictures when I booked the property. I had emailed the owner of the property about possibly getting in early and did not hear from them at all! "Loved the set up. Definitely a great place if you have a dog to let them run around. Beautiful water-just hate we didn't have time to put the kayaks in. Would recommend and stay here again.
