"Great location! Amazing views on the rooftop bar. Pool is nice but a little small. Staff was amazing and accommodating. The area is central to a lot of recreation and beautiful historical buildings. A bit busy at the hotel but that is to be expected for that area. The room we had with the balcony was perfect for the 2 of us. Loved the bathroom. Breafast was great too."

"We loved the stay and most staff consideration! We had one spot of discomfort. when we first arrived. We had a long trip by train which was delayed for more than 4 or 5 hours, so we were hoping for a warm reception. However, a gentleman of strong build told us to come to his kiosk to check us in. When I was tryed to tell him my name he interupted. We found out our room would be on the ground floor. My wife asked in Spanish if we could have a higher floor. He response was "Eh?!" We feared this viking would cleave us in twain with his mighty battle axe! We checked and felt our room would not do because we needed a desk to work. We returned to reception and decided to wait for a different person to ask for a different room. The mighty viking was talking and laughing with a comrade of the hotel because I am sure they saw many battles together. (We would hope for equal kindness to all people especially at a hotel) The viking saw us and we resisted the urge to cower in fear. He asked us a bit more gently than before if we were not satisfied with our room. We told him not to worry, we would talk to the youth of gentle bearing to guide us to our preferred loddging. The gentle youth was very serious but kind.We paid to upgrade to a room with a desk. We were greatly impressed by all others especially the staff who worked in the restaurant and bar. We were extremely satisfied with the food! The kitchen staff brought out gluten free bread and pastries. We loved it! We'll be back!"

"Excellent hotel walking distance from the main centre & metro & bus links nearby. We had a terrace top floor (additional nominal cost) was bigger than our room . Could have sun loungers & hot tubs on them it was so big. Pool was small but a large terrace that you could sit. Spoilt by kids trying to use as a swimming pool as it was so hot. Who brings kids to a major city for holidays. We ended up sitting on our terrace to get peace & quiet. Staff very helpful breakfast was good . Would go back & get a terrace 😁"

"Absolutely fantastic. Visited Madrid during a heat wave and arrived with serious jet lag from Los Angeles. The Thompson provided a perfect room to recover - extremely comfortable bed, delicious room service meals, blackout curtains and total silence all night - oh, and perfect air conditioning. They secured me a 5:30am taxi and wake up call upon departure. The rooftop pool is magnificent. Will be staying here again and again."

"Unfortunatelyni arrived at wrong time (take break 2 hours of day) so i had to get fairly costly uber. I chose this place because of free shuttle so that was a bummer. Staff are very customer-oriented. I had a problem with my meal and several employees and manager were so concerned and did everything possible to make it right. 2nd time here, id stay again. Close and convenient to go to airport. Rooms clean, bed comfy. "

"An excellent, modern hotel (though the hipster 'music' theme was a bit overblown). Excellent location close to the Madrid Chamartin station. Nice swimming pool and exercise room. Reliable WiFi. (Unfortunately, like other hotels in Spain, they don't have real coffee in the room ('instant coffee' is not real coffee).)"
