Welcome to Grand Eagle, Asheville's amazing rustic-luxury vacation home, set high in the mountains, yet still an easy drive to the top and close to everything! Built on 15 acres of private mountain terrain, the 6,000-square-foot home has some of the best views in the area, with countless amenities both indoors and out. By Arcadian Ave \*Driving Distance\* 13 miles to Biltmore 10 miles to downtown Asheville 6 miles to the Blue Ridge Visitors Center 11 miles to the River Arts District 12 miles to the adventure center of Asheville 16 miles to Chimney Rock 17 miles to Black Mountain Main Level: As you walk in, the grand entryway of the estate leads directly to the main living area, with an oversized modern kitchen (plus just about anything you'd need to cook a large meal) and a family dining room with ample seating and long-range views off the back. The family room has a wood-burning stone fireplace and exceptional mountain views. Off the living area is the home's main bedroom, equipped with a king bed and a flat-screen TV. It also houses a nursery with a crib and changing table, if needed. The master bath, in addition to double sinks and shower, has a large soaking tub for relaxing. Mid Level: Continuing up the stairs, the second level of the home contains 3 other bedrooms, and 3 of the full bathrooms in the house, as well as the first of two game rooms. The first bedroom on this mid-level is a King suite with a private en suite. The other King room shares an en suite bathroom with the Queen room. The final king bedroom on this level can separated into 2 twins upon request. The most impressive feature on this floor is probably the oversized game room at the end of the hall. Spanning almost 800 feet and containing a private balcony and fireplace, the game room has ample options to keep you entertained for hours. Skeeball, a pool table, foosball table, shuffleboard, darts and an assortment of arcade games are all there to use (free of charge of course)! Loft/Third Level: Continuing up the spiral staircase to the top floor of the home, you'll find the final two sleeping areas. One with a queen bed and the other with a king. The bathroom for these bedrooms is located on the mid-level, down the spiral staircase. Basement/Garage Level: Grand Eagle also has an arcade and cinema located off the main level of the home in the converted garage. The cinema has a 86" TV, with surround sound, and seating for 12 in vintage movie theatre seats. The arcade has an assortment of arcade games. The room also has another impressive feature, a 3-foot kid's loft above the arcade, which can be accessed via a spiral staircase and one end, and a 7' tube slide at the other. We apologize in advance if the kids refuse to go to bed! Outdoor Areas: As specular as the interior is, the true beauty of Grand Eagle can only be seen from the outdoor living areas. Directly off the living room, is a covered porch, with amazing views, ample seating, and an outdoor gas fire table. Off the southern side of the house, is an oversized deck, where the outdoor dining, with seating for 16, a propane grill and an outdoor pizza oven, all with exceptional mountain views For relaxing outside, take a dip in our oversized, 6-7 person hot tub, or go for a quick session in the outdoor sauna that can seat 6 comfortably. In addition to the countless amenities at Grand Eagle, we take pride in our hospitality above all else. Our kiddos range 1-5 with 4 parents age mid 30’s and parents in 60’s. We all had a great time and spent most of 4 days at the home together. Thoughtful items include sheets for changing table, high chair, plastic dishes and utensils for kids, kids game room toys/games, snacks in theater room. The “big kid” game room had hollow balls for skeeball along with regular balls, stools for playing video games, juke box. Kitchen was well- equipped with serving dishes and plates to serve 20\. Tablecloths for inside/outside tables allowed us to eat in both locations. We had so much fun playing pool and darts in the evenings, coffee outside on the patio in the mornings, 20 minute drive in to downtown. Uber drivers had no issues with the driveway, even though it was a significant climb up the mountain to get to the house. The hosts were so thoughtful and communicative. The theater room and game rooms were hits with all, as was the hot tub. The views are stunning, and we had a great view of a flock of wild turkeys walking by the house. The approach to the house is steep, narrow, and winding, and I would suggest using a low gear to get up and down the hill. Plenty of space for us to be together and enjoy time together. Kids and adults loved the game rooms. The view was spectacular and had bears walk through the yard 3 of the 4 days. My group was blown away with grandeur of the house and everything about this property! The scale, layout and amenities were perfect for our large group. We utilized every space in the house (except the kids game room and theater, unfortunately), both indoor and outdoor. We loved enjoying coffee and views of the sunrise over the mountains (so beautiful and relaxing), relaxing by the enormous fireplace at night, and sitting gas fire table at sunset. The beds and bedding were heavenly. Robes for every guest were a bonus! The house was well stocked in the kitchen for this culinary crew (more stemware and coffee mugs you could imagine) and they even had outdoor towels for the sauna and hot tub. The property was so peaceful that we didn't even find the need to leave and explore (of course we did - also amazing).We enjoyed treatments from message therapists at the house (one table was even set up outside because the weather was so beautiful), a yoga class at sunrise in the living room, and a private chef to make dinner in one night. As the host, I really enjoyed the benefit for the property's app that had all of the information about the property that was needed, and if I still had questions my answer was a text away within 15 minutes even during the evening on the weekend. This house was amazing for our family Christmas! The house and property are exactly as described and perfect for a multi- generational family getaway. The house was well stocked with essentials. The kitchen had ample pots and pans and everything needed to accommodate a large number of people comfortably. The game rooms and amenities- sauna, hot tub, outdoor firepits were amazing. All of the rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and equipped with all necessary amenities. Property managers were quick to respond for inquiries and questions. We thoroughly enjoyed a 3-night stay at Grand Eagle, gathering with old friends to reconnect and relax. Everything was as promised - the house was super-clean, well-appointed, comfortable, fun and in a gorgeous setting, with LOTS of room to roam both inside and out. Complete privacy and quiet. We're lucky to live just an hour away, so our focus was on simply hanging out - eating, talking and enjoying good wine in front of the fireplaces, playing pool and the other arcade games for exercise, LOL. We rented the house to gather our family for a few days before his wedding in Asheville. The house is an easy distance to so much that Asheville offers and yet was perfect just for spending time together! There were plenty of the basic supplies like paper products all we had to supply was food! Highlights included the rising Harvest Moon; rainbow after the stain which was perfect for family photos! Wild turkeys greeted us one morning. On another we had a bear stop by for a visit! We chose this house for a family vacation and our daughter's small wedding and couldn't have been happier! Julia our host answered my many questions about hosting the event. The ride up to the house the first time was a surprise. Dirt road that is single lane and all up hill. The only downer was that there are stairs. If you are a little handicap that would be a problem. There are stairs going into the living room that is connected to the other part of the house. Even though there are only three stairs you are always going up and down them. They blend into the floor so you have to be careful. One of the family did fall on them. The games are on two different levels. Some worked and some didn’t. They did try to fix them. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. Also people have left spices, oils, sugar and lots of other cooking ingredients. Found that is handy when you need a certain ingredient. The beds were one of the best we ever had. Super comfortable and the sheets were top grade.
