We did not feel the hotel staff was friendly at all. You were not able to take any food out of the resturant. When you needed a drink no one was going around serving you. We have been to Mexico once or twice for the last 13 years. This was our least favorite. The hotel was beautiful the rooms were excellent.

Best Yet!
We have stayed at the Palladium 4 times. We have also stayed at the Bahia Coba and Paradisus, so we have a lot of experience with the Riveria Maya. We like the Barcelo Palace the best out of all of the resorts we have stayed at throughout the Caribbean. The resort is new. The rooms have more amenities than the other resorts. The food was tied for the best with the Paradisus. The nightly shows were light years ahead of the other resorts. They had a state of the art sound system in the theater. The theater was indoors and air conditioned. The performers were professionals rather than the food service doing extra duty. Now for the minor negatives. I missed the iguanas that are ever present at the other resorts. There was not a food shack at the beach where you could eat lunch. It was hard to get food in the middle of the night. We will be back

AMAZING
This was our second trip to Mexico this year. Barcelo Maya Palace exceeded my expectations in almost every category.The room was exceptionally comfortable( except the mattress). The staff was as friendly as you get.The bars carry top shelf liquor and the food for the most part was above average. The only glaring weakness is the Italian restaurant Capri. The menu was weak and the quality of food was even worse. With that being said I have all intentions of going back this summer.Be a sport and tip a couple of dollars as it goes a long way for this very friendly and attentive staff Edyta & Andy N.Y.
