"ia very convenient place to stay"
the hotel is located close to the centre of the city and very close to the tram system to and from the airport, it is close to the theatre and is within walking distance of most of the attractions in the city. York Place is quieter at night than the city centre that can be very noisy late at night

"Choose wisely!"
I had booked the hotel 6 months prior to staying there and requested an early check in, as we were arriving from the States @8:00 am. By the time our taxie drooped us off it was between 9:30 - 10:00. When we walked threw the doors the receptionist looked up at us with a real look of dismay on her face. She said check in was at 3:00. I mentioned to her I had asked for an early check in and she checked the resveration and said well maybe 2:00. We then asked to leave our luggage and she hesitated but said all right. We walked into town and decided to return about 1:00, she called and the room was not cleaned, she suggest we have something to eat in their restaurant, which we did. I then can out at 2:00 and she said our room was finally done. I had wondered why they advertise for you to "up grade" your room to a more modern one, of course for an additional money. Our room was old, the beds were clean but the furniture was in need of updating and the bathroom needed updating as well. All in all if you only sleep there then it will do.

Three Star Hotel Guide for Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a small city full of unexpected contrasts. In the centre you will see people going about their daily lives amid some of the world’s most iconic structures. Inside Edinburgh hotels you will find wholesome traditional Scottish food served with modern flair. It is an enigmatic destination that defies easy explanation.

Book a comfortable stay in a 2 star hotel – any visit to Edinburgh is a truly rewarding experience. Scotland’s capital was the first UNESCO City of Literature and the city is very much like a good book: thrilling, engaging and a magical escape from the everyday.

    Edinburgh City of Literature

Many of Scotland’s best-known writers have called Edinburgh home at some point in their career and this is a fact that the city is proud to show off. Edinburgh has many literary tours and points of interest for visitors, including the café where JK Rowling wrote her captivating Harry Potter novels. Of course, this intriguing city has much to recommend it outside of its literary appeal, with everything from historic monuments to parks and gardens and even the famed Royal Yacht Britannia.

As Edinburgh is a small city, you will not be restricted by location when choosing your perfect hotel. Easily find accommodation in different areas using Expedia’s search tool.
