If your on the fence and it fits your budget it’s a wonderful place. Beach is underwhelming. Food is really good but if you’re not a member good luck getting a dinner reservation. Beautiful resort.

We loved the apartment- it was clean, spacious, well stocked and in a safe, accessible location. Communication was so easy, and they were incredibly helpful all the way through. Highly recommend!

If you want to do excursions there are plenty to do very safe area
Coba, Chichen Itza and diving the cenotes were all great experiences. Rent a car and explore!
Taxi from Akumal to the resort was 250 pesos ( about $13 USD), for approximately 1 mile. Try to make a deal ahead of time. If taking the Collectivo, it will stop right in front at the entrance. This would be appropriate for traveling light)
So i am torn, access to the beach at hotel Caribe area is expensive in my opinion. Being charged to go to a beach is not a place i will visit again
We did a day trip to Chichen Itza and Ik-Kil Cenote, great outing! We also snorkeled at Yal-ku cenote in Akumal.
