clean room, not a modern bathroom, but more than sufficient. Breakfast was good, great staff. It was a quick trip for me.

The hotel is big on charm and decor. It was in 1937 and the guest rooms haven’t been enlarged or highly modernized. What they did get is a big dash of kitsch. A couple miles North on Pacific Coast Highway in Encinitas has some wonderful restaurants, shops and nightlife. I enjoyed biking there. Moonlight Beach is also. The BEST ice cream is at Handels Ice Cream. Try S’mores or Key Like Pie flavor.
