"Lobby is very loud… yeah, it’s the Hark Rock. Like the them, but needs work. TV system was on the fritz a few times, Starbucks is outside, and it’s $70/day for valet parking! Right on Gaslamp Qtr roe though so lots of good restaurants."

"The staff were super helpful and welcoming. I asked for extra towels and I had them in less than 10 minutes. They were also very helpful and knowledgeable when telling me about the hotel. That being said the pictures and rooms are very dated. The carpet is filthy and the windows don’t shut all the way. Beds are doubles so definitely felt small and we only got 2 pillows per bed which is fine. You definitely get what you pay for but this definitely isn’t the nicest hotel."

"We liked the beach view a lot. What we weren't happy about was the fact that the staff were not upfront in telling us that they assigned us to a room with stairs. All they asked was if any in our party has a disability. They wish they were more upfront in asking how do we feel about being assigned to an upstairs room with no elevator. Honesty plays a big role in customer service. So we declined the upstairs room because of my son's preference. He liked the previous rooms that we had before where the beach is easily accessible. Long story short, our room took a good 1 hour from the check in time to be ready. They were nice to offer us a snack voucher "for free" while waiting for the room. It could've been nice (again) if the voucher was indeed complimentary but it wasn't. They charged us for the snack in our final bill."
