Antigua and Barbuda Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

Situated in the Caribbean Sea, the twin islands of Antigua and Barbuda are a part of the Leeward Islands and Lesser Antilles. Known as the Land of 365 Beaches, Antigua and Barbuda offer some of the top beaches in the entire Atlantic region.

St. John's is the capital city of Antigua and Barbuda, and it has a population of around 23,000. It is famous for its luxury Antigua and Barbuda hotel packages and it is considered an inviting location that welcomes tourists. It is also known for having the best medical care in the entire Caribbean, which is provided at the St. John's Medical Centre.

The culture of Antigua and Barbuda is heavily influenced by the British, who were early colonizers of the area. Cricket is the most popular sport, followed by football, boating, and fishing. Tourists taking advantage of the affordable Antigua and Barbuda hotel deals offered by Expedia might consider planning their vacations during Antigua Sailing Week, which brings in vessels from around the world.

While taking advantage of the cheap hotel deals in Antigua and Barbuda, many travelers make an excursion to Reservoir Range in the capital city of St. John's. At this sporting complex, visitors can try their hands at clay pigeon shooting, rowing, and fishing along a 230-acre reservoir.

Another popular destination for guests of Antigua and Barbuda hotels is Stingray City, which is a snorkeling adventure around the islands. Nelson's Dockyard in St. John's is another must-see. In the dockyard, visitors will find history, culture, and even some tasty island cuisine and tropical drinks.

Many hotels in Antigua and Barbuda offer sightseeing tours to the smaller islands of the nation as well as to sites such as Half Moon Bay, Valley Church Beach, and Shirley Heights, where visitors will enjoy the low prices on special trinkets to bring home.

To find a cheap Antigua and Barbuda hotel deal, plan to book reservations on Expedia at least two months in advance. Discount rooms are more readily available during the off-peak travel season, which is June through November. For the best rates during the months of December through May, travelers should consider towns such as St. John's as well as the quaint smaller towns, including All Saints, Lieberta, and Potter's Village.

    "Fine place to stay."
Have stayed here twice now. First time was with my wife in the king superior room, this time by myself in the supersaver room while I was in Antigua working for a few days. The king room is far nicer and more spacious. The supersaver room was fine for my needs and it doesn't change the rest of the resort amenities. I may move up to the standard room next time. Food is plentiful and of reasonable quality. Lydia's BBQ night was still my favorite, great food and the steel drum band playing during dinner. I will be staying there again on any subsequent trips!

    "Sweet Spot"
Our stay was simply amazing. My beautiful wife and I went there for our honeymoon and were very impressed. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was very romantic. What a joy to wake up and drink coffee in the morning from our patio while watching local lizards crawl around on trees. The thing I want to stress the most however, was that the food was AMAZING. We were treated to delicious 4 course meals every lunch and dinner. Pretty much everything we ate was wonderful. The bar staff could be a little friendlier but that is a minor complaint/ suggestion. Overall, so impressed. We want to save up and be able to go back some day. They have my vote!

    "good for the price"
We received a discount by booking flight and hotel on Expedia. The hotel has some shortcomings, but we were satisfied with the value in relation to the price we paid. Desk clerk was rude at check in. Restaurant over priced. Near a bad location. But security is good with guard at the gate and on the grounds 24/7. Free upgrade to beach view. Rooms were clean and maid service was good. View from the room was excellent. AC in room is adequate but could use improved circulation into bathrooms and sleeping area. It blows too hard directly on the desk area for someone sitting there. I was sweating in the bathroom and on the bed and cold at the desk.

    "Nice hotel close to beach"
From the moment we arrived at the airport everything was relaxing. We got off the airport and the lady at the Sandals booth gave us a welcome gift and helped us to our transfer taxi. We arrived at the hotel and were welcomed into an air conditioned room, offered champagne and checked in to our room. Our room was on the main floor that opened up to our own private pool and jacuzzi. Perfect if you just want to relax with more privacy. Food was good but the buffet is small if you compare it to the buffets you have in Canada or the States. Mini bar was always stocked. Room service was ok, took a while to arrive to arrive to our room. The staff went above and beyond and really made our stay an enjoyable one.

    "Honeymooners"
My husband and I had a wonderful time. The staffs were friendly and willing to help with anything especially the drivers Vaughn and Brian to name a few. The hotel is hilly and if the shuttles isn't free when you want to go to or from.your room you have to climb some steep walkways we found the walk not too tiresome. The views from different part of the hotel was breathtaking Carmichael and their infinity pool relaxing food and drinks enjoyable. Our room had an amazing view Room 37 and we were able to have a candle lid dinner with minimal interference from the bugs. The morning breakfast that came with the room wonderful. It's the standard North American menu i.e. bacons, sausage, eggs , cereal etc you have a variety so you can switch things up if you like. The evening entertainment is fair at the main restaurant. Getting a rental is easy and fast for they have a car rental within the compound. There are a few great Beaches nearby. We would recommend renting a car and driving around the small island you see more and it's economical. Since we're from Guyana the driving convention is the same so we were able to adjust nicely only the narrowness of the catriageway was a bit scary but the drivers are friendly and willing to assist once they realise you're a tourist. Overall if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy your spouse company that's the hotel for you. We were given a complimentary bottle of Champagne and a one hour body massage

"VERY HELPFUL REVIEW - MUST READ !!"
PROS - 1 ) the cottage style hotel rooms are absolutely beautiful 2 ) the beach is right front of hotel 3 ) the pools are amazing with amazing views. CONS - 1 ) All inclusive food is on their time not yours, which sucks because you're on vacation not at millitary camp. 2 ) the Dinner ABSOLUTELY sucksed every night with a small menu, but the breakfast and lunch buffets was good. 3 ) NO TV in the rooms 4 ) NO FREE WIFI 5 ) wifi available only by the main bar area
