We’ve stayed here before when going to NE Iowa to see the fall tree colors. It’s right across the street from a casino, downtown Dubuque and right on the Mississippi River. We dodged a bullet when checking in. There was a river boat tour of 60 people checking in minutes after we had checked in. Breakfast ended at 9am, so we went down at 8:30. There were so many people, it filled the Tony Romas restaurant (where breakfast is served). They had run out of some food and nothing to drink, as a lady was going around trying to get drinks for everyone. Not a big deal to us and I’m sure this doesn’t happen all of the time.
The hotel taxes were $15 & hotel fees(?) were $20, which is a bit ridiculous. The room was $129 a night, which initially looked attractive, but The final bill was $165, plus a $50 deposit. But we knew that going in and it was our choice to stay there.
