The whole unit had a strong, unpleasant smell that never let up. The bathroom was worse. "Here’s a polished, balanced version that is honest but still fair to the hotel: Overall, I had a pleasant stay, but I felt the room was quite expensive for what was offered. The room was not always serviced as expected, and on two occasions the room was not cleaned at all. This was disappointing, particularly given the price of the stay. The restaurant could also offer a better selection of food for guests looking for something beyond hamburgers, fried food, and more casual options. That said, the brunch was quite good and offered a much better variety. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and the service was generally pleasant. The hotel’s location and setting are excellent, especially the beautiful pool overlooking the ocean. The overall atmosphere and surroundings are definitely among the hotel’s strongest features. With more consistent housekeeping and an improved restaurant menu, I think the overall experience would better justify the price. If you want, I can also make it  more critical and direct, or  more diplomatic and suitable for a 4-star review."
