I can't say enough good things about this hotel. My fiance and I stayed overnight because we were attending a wedding at San Ysidro Rancho and for those of you attending a wedding there- this only 7 mins away from the ranch, has ocean views, its clean, charming, rooms come fully equipped with your own patio, fireplace, 4-post bed, complimentary breakfast that can be delivered to your room and so on.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay and did I mention that the staff was incredible....

We have friends in Montecito that we visit each year, so we've stayed in quite a few hotels in the area over the years. There is only one other place that we'd stay at again, based on the comfort level of the room. The other one is closer to Stearns wharf and the beach, but a little too far from our friends.

While the Montecito Inn is a favorite destination having stayed a half a dozen times over the years, some elements are starting show a bit of wear and tear. In our cozy room both the bedroom cabinetry and bathroom hardware were in quite poor operation. A little TLC on these items could go a long way to move my review from 4 stars to 5.
But the cleanliness, staff, and surrounding area continue to draw us back to this property. We love the secluded pool and jacuzzi, as well as the lobby sitting...

It's the little things, sometimes, and Harbor House does it in spades! We booked a two night stay so there was a gratis breakfast basket waiting for us in our room--the homemade banana bread is just like mom used to make! The kitchenette is fully appointed with utensils, dishes, even a corkscrew. We found a full-sized coffee maker with tons of coffee and fixins, including flavored creamers. Our suite had a very comfortable bed as well as a pull-out twin which was a pleasant surprise. Harbor...

We needed an inexpensive option and this ended up being so much better than expected! We even had an ocean view! Clean room and friendly staff. It was perfect!

The value for the price is excellent. The location is great and I love that it is pet friendly, however the only drawback to that is a garage can located near a side entrance door that also supplies the bags for pet dropping made it a bit stinky as you enter. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this for the value.

We had a great experience at the hotel. Very clean and welcoming. The room was perfect for two adults and our two children. Plenty of space…and the proximity to the Downtown area was quite close. Will definitely return to the hotel the next time we’re in Santa Barbara

So many great things! The location was ideal and walkable to waterside and town sights, the rooms were clean with very quick attention to any minor problems, the staff was superlative (especially concierge Flore), and the free parking and free breakfast, with eggs, sausage, cheesy potatos, danishes, fruit, cereal, etc., were just bonuses!

The best area to stay in Summerland is along the stretch of coastline surrounding Lillie Avenue, which serves as the heart of the town.
This area is Summerland's main thoroughfare, offering a collection of antique shops, local eateries, and boutiques. It's conveniently located just a short walk from Summerland Beach, providing easy access to the ocean and scenic views. The general layout is compact and walkable, making it easy to explore on foot.
Couples will find this area particularly appealing due to its relaxed pace and picturesque setting. You can enjoy strolls along the beach, explore the unique shops, and dine at restaurants with ocean views, all within close proximity. It offers a tranquil escape with a touch of local charm.
For those looking for a bit more seclusion and direct beach access, the properties situated directly on the bluffs overlooking the ocean are an excellent option.
When is the best time to go to Summerland?
The best time to go to Summerland is during the late spring and early fall, specifically from May to June and September to October.
During these months, the weather is consistently pleasant, with warm temperatures and less fog than in mid-summer. This period avoids the peak summer crowds, allowing for a more relaxed experience at the beaches and local establishments. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a tranquil getaway, as well as solo travelers seeking comfortable weather for outdoor activities like exploring the coast or local wine trails.
Travelers looking for a lively beach experience might prefer July and August, when the ocean is warmest and all beach activities are in full swing.
