“Stayed at the Fox and Goose for 5 days. Looked after by the staff at all times. Very comfortable room which was serviced daily. The food was excellent with good sized meals which were served by very pleasant staff. Will definitely stay there again.”

“I’ve wanted to stay at the Webbington for years. Every time I’ve driven past on the M5 I’ve looked across and wondered what it was like. My dad was mildly annoyed when I told him we’d finally stayed — apparently I’ve beaten him to it after about 60 years of meaning to go! Fate eventually brought us here when my wife became unwell while we were travelling home and we decided it was much more sensible to stop for the night. The hotel is an eclectic mix of old and new. “The staff were friendly, fun and efficient. A disabled parking space was close by for my husband and the ground floor bedroom exceptionally well accommodated and comfortable along with a wet room! The bar was fun, friendly and busy with excellent menu, great service and atmosphere. A local group of friends informally got together with instruments and voices. Much enjoyed. Highly recommended”

“The room was beautifully decorated and well maintained. We had a lovely view over the hills. The staff were helpful and accommodating. We had a meal in the restaurant which was lovely but we did have a substantial wait (45+ minutes) which we were not warned about. Overall a lovely place to stay, I would go there again.”

“Functional stop over location breaking up journey to Cornwall. AC wasn't working in one room. Staff said it was fixed after we had been out for dinner, but it hadn't and either they didn't know how to fix it or were more tolerant of the heat. Also it's an absolute cheek that the hotel charges you to stay in the car park when it's clear everyone will need to drive to it and there's nothing else there. Other than that it was average.”

“We had a room on the front, no air, room not aired, constant road noise all through the night. Mattress stained, carpet stained. Tables sticky in the restaurant - avoided breakfast.”

“Nice warm feel about the place. A little bit worn around the edges, but exactly what you would expect from such an old property. Bed was comfy.”

“The pub is an old building, therefore there are things that cannot be changed, so if you are a light sleeper and cannot use ear plugs this may not be for you. It was not an issue for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, we had one evening meal there, breakfast was perfect, they were very accommodating by tweaking the menu to what you prefer. Very close to the caves and gorge, easy to access other attractions.”

“Lovely place to stay. We stayed here as we were visiting Cheddar Gouge. Friendly staff and nice pub downstairs. Big family room and massive bathroom. Everywhere was clean and and well decorated. Nice breakfast included. Highly recommend.”

“A excellent stay prior to a flight from Bristol Airport. Restaurant was excellent with a good selection of food and drinks. The staff made you feel welcome. Car parking was great and only 15-20 minutes from the airport. Will definitely stay again.”
