“Convenient off the highway and close to jelkyl island at an affordable price ”

“Checking was very attentive. The rooms were very clean but the soaps and lotions were empty. Towels were small and very old. Over all it was what to be expected for the price since we were looking for dog friendly hotels.”

“Love the happy hour and the proximity to downtown Darien. Some of the outside doors don't work with the hotel key which got annoying one night, but that is a small thing. Overall we like the Oaks.”

“I had seen such great reviews but was disappointed. It does seem they attempted to renovate but it was done poorly. The room was a bit worn down, in need of some repairs. The tv was coming in and out. The pool was smaller than it even appears in pictures. The staff was very friendly though.”

“Very friendly staff. The floor in the bathroom and the carpeting were sticky though. Like too much soap and no rinsing? I just wore socks the whole time but it was a little offputting”

“2nd time staying here in two years. Both times were great. A little pricier than you can find in the area but the breakfast is great, seating area for breakfast really comfortable, the small outdoor pool is great, ample easy access parking, dogs allowed, laundry area was also great. The beds are very comfortable, housekeeping staff nice. They will come in and change your sheets and towels daily which is a plus that I don’t experience everywhere I travel. Easy to opt out of too. Small area to buy……

“Pool was closed. Room was good except for noisy group outside until 2 am. Convenient location. Food on-site was very average. ”

“Clean, spacious room with comfortable beds and pillows. Could not hear any cars or trucks but heavy footsteps from upstairs and people talking from next door. Free simple breakfast. The air conditioner was a bit loud. Hallway smelled like smoke but room did not.”

“We were put in a handicap room and we did not request this. Our lights did not work and the staff just said it’s the only room we have. No apology or request to address the issue. My husband had to find the breaker and trip the switch for lights and he also had to attach the toilet seat! The worst hotel experience I have ever had! ”

“I really like this cute little place, but a couple of things could’ve been better, especially for the price. The small single cup coffee maker did not work and the walk-in shower was not clean. Luckily I bring cleaning wipes everywhere I go. I wasn’t a fan of the design of the shower as it had half a glass shower door, but nothing else. Other than that, the staff was really nice and answered all of our questions. Breakfast was delicious also.”
