Shows in the evenings were a nice surprise and kids club events every day! We had trouble finding some of the posted events like Pilates class. Kids pools and areas have lots to do and everything is very clean and well taken care of. It was hard to find a quiet relaxing vibe. Wasn’t impressed with the beach area, got kicked out of some chairs in the only swimming part of the ocean, “Akumal guests only”. We had no idea! Just felt confused a lot, had trouble finding the buffet the first night after flying all day, they wouldnt let my kid in having swimsuit on. (I understand, but we literally had just shown up & didn’t know.) All the pools close at 6pm and there is no hot tub. (2,776 reviews) We went with a large friend group 19 of us in total. The resort was perfect for us, everyone enjoyed it (44-68). All the staff were amazing. The resort was very clean and well maintained. The daily room refresh always made our room very clean. Within our group we did three different excursions booked through Margarita. Our group thoroughly enjoyed them. Tulum+Cenotes, Catamaran, Reef Snorkeling. The activities team is amazing. There are low energy to high energy activities. Most of our group are early risers so activates ending by 11PM was perfect for us. We enjoyed the morning tai chi, yoga, stretching with Viri; volleyball games, aquafit, crazy games with Susana, Victor and Moises and all the evening shows. The lounge chairs under netting by the beach were our go to spot in the morning. We didn't find we need to secure any early and just used them while we were there. The only area that was very busy for chairs was around the pools. Every day we enjoyed the pizza (or Tacos on Tuesday) by El Charro, it was great as a snack. The Mexicano was a favourite amongst our group. The hidden gem for food for me was the sushi bar. This is part of the Japanese restaurant and cannot be booked in advance but is walk in. It was never very busy when I was there, I'm not sure if many realized you could just walk into it. If you enjoy Sushi I would recommend checking it out. (1,009 reviews) After researching and comparing several resorts we decided to celebrate our anniversary at Paradisus La Perla. This resort exceeded our expectations. The resort is sooo beautiful! The rooms are very spacious (we stayed in a junior suite - nature view). Housekeeping was top tier. We never ran out of anything (towels, snacks, mini bar). There was always plenty of activites day and night. The only thing I would give less than 5 stars for is the food - mainly the buffets. Although the food was on a heater, it was still cold (which was very odd). The buffets also centered more around mexican and indian cuisine (I love both).
