8.4/10 Very Good! (1,015 reviews)
Pros: Great location. Easy walking distance to SoHo, Chinatown, Little Italy, and Tribeca) and A-C-E trains right outside your door.
Cons: The room was okay. One elevator (there are 2) was out of order for our first two days, which was a pain. More annoying was the strange lack of attention to refilling very basic amenities in our room. I woke up on the first morning to discover I only had decaf coffee pods! We also ran out of toilet paper, which is a first for me in a hotel. I get that it's more sustainable (or less expensive) to have housekeeping visit every other day but then you have to compensate by overfilling things like coffee pods, towels, and TP!! When I called the front desk to ask for more supplies, I was put on hold by the front desk for long enough that I hung up and used Kleenex. Desperate times! Our door was semi-broken as well (it took some muscle to open and fully latch when leaving) and there was a constant leak from our bathroom faucet (so much for sustainability). I mentioned both of these when I checked out and the front desk employee said "thanks" (no one in the service industry says "I'm sorry" anymore, lolz).
Looking back at how much this cost, I am feeling a little salty and probably won't stay here again. If I do, I'll remember to more strongly advocate for TP and caffeine.
