We had a positive experience at this hotel. Clean, modern and great guest services. We had room service, which was good. Just make sure you plan for a hotel transfer (hire car), because there is no free shuttle (like you get used to in the USA).
When we arrived I was greeted by the most friendly staff who dealt with my check in. My request of a room with the view of Big Ben was fulfilled and this only made me so much more impressed about my stay. The hotel is absolutely fantastic in my experience 5* luxury just to walk through the reception ...
We were pleased about the value for money of this airport hotel. Nice pool. Good food for reasonable price at restaurant.
Business rptrip to London. The Strand Palace fulfilled all requirements and is in a great location near Covent Garden. We eat in the Duke pub just along the road which was nice. The room was small but perfectly functional single room. Huge hotel but didn't feel too busy. Not sure why I need to write ...
Having stayed at this Hotel on other occasions and being very happy with our rooms, on this occasion we were rather disappointed in our room, It overlooked St Katherines Dock which was fine as it is a pleasant view, but we felt the room was for single occupancy but with a double bed in it. Very little ...

Check -in was simple and we were advised we didn't have a window so our expectations were a little low. Got to the room which was on the 6th floor and to our surprise ...
Found the Mercure Watford okay except for the two football pitches right outside our bedroom window, matches went on from 4 o'clock when we got there until 9.30 at night. Very noisy.
In all ways it was very good. The food was good but I think it was a little overpriced. But overall, it was very good. Best advice: if you think you'll get hungry at night, bring your own. Bus is free from and to the airport Terminals 1,2 and 3.
Lovely hotel, our river view was amazing and the hotel is very smart and elegant. It was let down by a lot of little details. Some of the fittings and room layout were poor. Some of the staff were great but other times we waited a long time for service or were forgotten about. Brush up on the little ...
