“Although the room was relatively clean, I did not feel safe not having a locking out door especially after recent incidents at Travelodge The hot water was lukewarm and hardly running out of the main sink tap Mattress was lumpy not that comfortable mould in shower on ceiling. Staff are very friendly unfortunately this is a very tired accommodation walls incredibly thin. For a pub with rooms, it’s on the expensive side”

“A lovely hotel, slap bang in the middle of town, close to all pubs and restaurants and the Centenary theatre (20 minute walk) could do with a little touch up and repairs here and there. But excellent value for where it’s positioned and the staff are exceedingly welcoming and friendly. Lovely stay would book again definitely! ”

“The place is old, but not an issue. But the sheets weren't really clean and found a pubic hairs on my pillow. I slept in my day clothes. The facilities had free parking. I parked and asked reception during check in if that's the right place to park and they advice me yes. After return home from my business trip, I get a parking ticket from the hotel. I provided my receipts and prove I actually stayed there but yet they still insist to charge me with debt collection. Two night stay was……

“Room: Clean room, welcome cake and petals on the bed. Nice and modern with all amenities you’d hope to see. Only negative was that the room was very loud. We could hear everyone’s conversation extremely clearly as they walked past our room which did wake us up, especially as we were by the start of the corridor in room 47. Hotel as a whole: Grounds were well kept however very quiet. I assume the hotel is a venue for conferences and weddings as lots of function rooms. Staff: Staff were 50/50.……

“Staff were fantastic. We had to get moved out of our first room due to bad sewer smell from bathroom. The second room was dated, dilapidated. Shower door handle loose, rain shower head broken and sprayed everywhere. Cracked tiles on the step to the bathroom. Stain on carpet under desk, bed was so uncomfortable, it was like a mattress that most would throw out. Not sure why more money isn’t being spent on the “servant quarters” bedrooms as this place had a great reputation. Maybe some of the……

“Small room but ok for our short stay. Breakfast on the 1st day was missing a couple of ingredients smoked salmon and avocado but other breakfast meals made up for the missing options. Staff in hotel and restaurant very good.”
