“Easy to find near Dumfries and a nice break into Scotland at the start of our journey. Room was clean and comfortable, and we had the one nearest the ramp so didn't have to climb steps. Room was a bit dark, but easy to move around in, and had sufficient power outlets so we could charge our phones without a problem.
Dinner was very good and the owner introduced me to a new ale that i hadn't tried before... great recommendation!
We also found out he was the local postmaster, and let us confirm……

“We had a lovely warm welcome from Morag.
Our room was lovely and comfortable. Morag shared with us local recommendations for eating out. Our morning started off with the most delicious Scottish breakfast. We would highly recommend a stay at The Hightae Inn.”

“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”
