Overall, we had a wonderful time and can't wait to return to Mazatlán. Staff were incredibly friendly (about half spoke some English), and the restaurant, Condimento, offered a massive, delicious breakfast buffet that includes excellent Mexican and American food, plenty of fresh fruit, plus hot and savory dishes. Sandra and Adan took great care of us and made us feel welcome everyday. Angel, who runs the pool side bar, did a lovely job anticipating our needs and ensuring that we were comfortable lounging in the cabanas. We spent our weeklong stay in a spacious Junior Suite that had a spectacular view of the ocean, perfect for watching pelicans dive and hunt. Small note: our wing of the hotel was immediately next door to several restaurants and La Rosalía, which is a nightclub, so we were a little worried about noise during our first night (Saturday) given all the mariachi bands performing on the beach and parties we could hear all night, but thereafter it was rather quiet for the rest of the week, with events wrapping up around 10-11pm. Plenty of fantastic mariachi musicians during the day, but nothing that interfered with sleep or resting up for day excursions. (From the hotel courtyard, you can hardly hear anything except the ocean quite frankly.) Honestly, a week isn't long enough for this gem."
