After watching water fall impressively over a cliff, explore the rest of Fallsview Boulevard. The action-packed heart of Niagara Falls’ Canadian side is filled with entertainment, from hotels and arcades to restaurants and casinos. Book a hotel on the boulevard for easy access to spectacular views of the falls along with excitement on the street.
Spend a day or night hopping between venues along the relatively short stretch of road. An all-in-one experience is offered at the Fallsview Casino Resort, which has gambling, shopping and entertainment. Ride the outdoor elevator, known affectionately as the yellow bug, to the revolving restaurant at the top of the Skylon Tower, perfect for special occasions. Get a thrill at Niagara Freefall’s indoor skydiving venue or live vicariously at the Niagara Daredevil Exhibit learning about the 16 people who have attempted the falls drop.
Take a break from the neon lights amid the neat landscaping of Queen Victoria Park, a short walk away. Relax in the cool darkness of the IMAX Theatre Niagara, with its range of blockbusters and documentaries. Rise above everything at the Falls Incline Railway at the southern end of the boulevard and get a bird’s-eye view of it all, both natural and man-made.
Fallsview Boulevard runs from north to south at the heart of Niagara Falls’ Canadian bank. Reach the Rainbow International Bridge in about 5 minutes by car from the busiest part of the avenue or walk in 25 minutes. Get here from St. Catharines or from Niagara Falls International Airport on the American side in 25 minutes, or from Hamilton in just under 1 hour. Street parking is not allowed on the boulevard itself, but several metered parking lots are available, as well as parking attached to the street’s hotels.
In the summer, Fallsview Boulevard is the perfect base for exploring the whole region. Take a daytrip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, where the Shaw Festival puts on theater productions for every taste.
