“The only issue we had was that our room was on the highest floor and we had to carry our bags!”

“The room itself (superior room, 2 twin beds, non-smoking) was perfectly adequate, spacious, clean and comfortable (beds), good shower. Would have been perfect had it had a fridge to keep our drinks cool (particularly with the UK heatwaves we have currently) and maybe a few wine glasses would have been useful. However, when we checked in the man on reception was extremely unhelpful and dismissive, gave us no instructions at all regarding breakfast etc. so it was somewhat disappointing on first……

“AVOID!!! We arrived at the hotel to stay 1 night (Saturday). We had booked using Expedia (also to be avoided). Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told by the person at the reception that we had not paid enough to Expedia and that if we were to stay at the price (already paid), he would not be making money. He requested that if we paid an extra £20 in cash we could stay but this sounded very dodgy to us so we declined. He asked us to call Expedia to tell them that we had not paid enough!!!!! We……

“Please be aware that you need to upload a passport online to a third party company for every person over 16 that is staying at the property. We were not aware of this until after the free cancellation period was over. There is no mention in the listing or confirmation that the passport would be the only document accepted. We were uncomfortable doing this with all the online identity theft that is prevalent today. The communication with the property was poor. We messaged several times through……

“This is an interesting old pub/hotel renovated to a high standard. The rooms were well appointed and the breakfast was superb.”
