"Stayed here because of proximity to cruise port, which was very convenient. Room itself was fine but outdated. Hated the sliding barn-door style bathroom which really hindered bathroom privacy, and the lobby bathrooms weren't any better. Claim Jumper next door was a disappointment; had to send back the meal due to poor cooking. Altogether, would stay here for the port convenience but would look elsewhere if I was coming back to San Diego for another reason."

"The staff was great but the room condition was pretty bad, the free water was opened and drank some and put back, bathroom door was extremely hard to close to were my 2 kids couldn't even close it. Then they charge $28 for parking and have the parking lot is taken over by construction equipment they should have waved the parking fee. Probably not use this hotel next time we come."

"This was a mother/daughter trip in March 2026. I had never been to San Diego before and had no idea what to expect on any level. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this property was not only wonderfully, centrally located, but relatively isolated in its position on the wharf. We didn't have the budget for frills and this property was just what worked for us, and I would definitely return to this property. "

"It was okay for the 3 days we stayed. However our phone didnt work and and we didn't have a shower curtain and the pillows were hard as a rock. Things i could work around for 3 days. When going to the front desk to ask for a shower curtain i mentioned that we were on a time schedule but nobody came to give us one. I had to find a cleaning lady and she came right away. I also mentioned our phone didnt work to the front desk and the girl looked at me with a blank stare, no response. I asked a question to another girl about something else and she answered but no eye contact So all and all it was ok but staff (other then the cleaning lady) need much more customer service training. I wish i was a secret shopper lol. They would have failed!! "
