"Nice location"
This hotel was awsome to stay at. Private beach. A bit over priced on food,is cheeper to drink than actually eat. I would definitely go back.

"Beautiful Resort"
Beautiful resort to experience with family. Check in was difficult but other than initial issue, everything else was wonderful. Many restaurants to select from, daily evening entertainment, easy access to Xcaret Park, shoppes, and lots of views.

"Rosewood Mayakoba"
Wonderful. Staff are exceptional, friendly, warm, and that is everyone from the maintenance worker to the resort manager. Having bikes available to move around the resort was ideal, the butlers make booking excursions and dinners seamless, even helping bubble wrap various items that were purchased. The facilities are great. Pools, beach, water activities (we took two catamaran rides). Food also very good. We were there with our two kids, ages 12 and 10, and they had a great time. A bit too old for most of the kids club activities, but they were never bored with pool, beach, and wi fi everywhere.

"Best vacation by a wide margin"
Our stay at Banyan Tree Mayakoba was the best vacation we have ever had. The private Bliss villas are exactly as pictured on the website. They provide a luxurious and extremely private environment to relax in. As you stay in a mangrove forest crisscrossed by canals the beach is about 15 minutes by foot or less than 5 minutes by the ubiquitous and free golf carts. The restaurants are very high quality and the staff throughout the hotel is extremely helpful and courteous. Present when you need them and invisible when not. We took the dinner boat cruise for two at Banyan Tree and it was extremely romantic and very memorable. The boat cruise and shuttles are great and we saw a lot of wild life from turtles and herons to baby crocodiles. We took a cooking class with Chef Light at Saffron, who is just awesome. He really introduced us to Thai cooking. Chef Light also introduced us to his sister who is the head chef at Tamarind when we dined there and the food and service there was also outstanding. We also booked a Tequila Tasting with Sol. It was very enjoyable and educational. Last but not least, I want to praise Abel Morales at Bayan Tree. He took excellent care of us and was always very helpful, knowledgeable and created a very hospitable atmosphere. I view him as one of the rising stars in the hospitality industry. I am sure I do him injustice by only these few praises. He’ll go far.

"Way an okay stay"
Hotel rooms at both Sandos I've stayed at have not been the cleanest places. Staff is friendly. Food is okay. Sandos playacar food is way better than Sandos caracal.

"Not exactly what we were expecting"
We chose this resort because of the adult only option. Knowing that we would be in areas with children was perfectly fine. However, our room was far from the beach, the fridge didn't work for 3 of the 6 days, outside the room had a constant sewage odor, and the room had a ton of bugs. Also, the patio had no chairs like the other patios. The "adult" only beach section was always full of kids. We have kids of our own but chose this to have some quiet time. Also, the couple of times we needed help the communication was terrible. One day our key broke off in the locker and we waited over an hour for help, finally squeezing our belongings out of the locker without help. Then on our excursion the Isla Mujes, our driver left us in Cancun. We waited over an hour for him to come get us and then he was very irritated. The beaches were very rocky unlike other resorts we've stayed at in Playa. We never got our Medallion because the jeweler was out and wouldn't get any in until after we were gone home. And the Japanese restaurant was booked out until after we went home. And, the swim up bar was always packed with kids so we never even got to use it and it closed way too early. We will not return to this resort.

Great facilities, good food and friendly staff. The room was good but the cleaness of the bathroom could get some improvement (a little mold in some places) also the A/C has a temperature limit and pillows that come with the rate of the room are not comfortable (unless you get other ones for an extra charge). Other than these nuances, the hotel is really nice, lots of animals around, beautiful and well maintained installations, many things to see and do or just to relax. The pools were excellent and the beach was beautiful, a little rockie in some spots which makes it great for snorkeling! The natural pool is also really awesome. We loved it!

"Good Hotel with decent staff. Nothing over the top"
Went with 10 family members. When we arrived we had to wait 1 hour just to get checked in. With kids and parents, after a long journey, it was very long as we really wanted to go to our room and change/unwind. Staff was not the nicest either. Nothing extremely mean but wished they were more friendly. Food was OK. The buffet at breakfast was defiantly the best our of all meals. The wait times and dress code were hard to comply with for us. There was a gap between an hour around 5PM where it was hard to eat. With kids - made it a little difficult. Pools were good. Service at pools were excellent. Beach was decent. Calm enough to swim. They advertise kayaks and snorkels but both were below par. Snorkels were limited - only 3 to rent for the whole resort. Snorkeling around there was not worth it. They had kayaks but never rented out claiming weather but in my eyes the weather was calm and great every day. All in all this was a good place. Most of the comments above were nit-picky.
