“This was one of the most dreamy places I've ever visited. The grounds were gorgeous between the beach, the jungle, and the architecture. The service was unrivaled. Luxurious in every sense. Can't wait to come back!”

“Overall had a good experience staying here but my room was so far from the restaurants and was a great deal of walking. It was hard to get a drink at the swim up bar but they do an incredible job at cleaning up and keeping things in order. Very friendly and helpful staff. I did not like that there was not more fans or AC in areas of the hotel. It made it almost unbearable at times. I also think that there should be more maps around the hotel to help you navigate it and I found some shortcuts……

“Another great visit to HBR. The staff was once again great. There weren’t as many people in both HBR and the larger neighboring properties, but there still was a nice amount of activities and entertainment, and the people (some usuals, some new folks) were lovely and good fun. The spa staff was once again great on HBR’s Sunday afternoon spa takeover which was fun as usual. The food was good, and the restaurants on the larger property once again offered nice choices. They also had a new wine……

“My family and I ( husband and three grandkids) had a wonderful stay at Barcelo Maya and it surpassed all our expectations! We stayed in the Tropical area and all facilities were easy to access to by pathways or by shuttle. Pools are beautiful and each one has its own all inclusive bar. The kids area is right in the middle by the pools so it easy to watch your kids from the pools. The beach is right behind the pools and has plenty of palm trees if you want shade while sitting or lying on the……

“Overall, our stay was disappointing. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready even though we were already in the middle of check-in. We were then downgraded from a first-floor room to a third-floor room that was much farther away. Traveling with four young kids, who were exhausted and ready to get settled and enjoy the resort, made this especially frustrating. The air conditioning in our room barely worked. It stayed at 24°C the entire week, even after adjusting it to 21°C and waiting for it to……

“The property is right on the beach! We were unable to get in the water and use a lot of the amenities, like paddle boards, due to the sargassum (which is on every beach in the Riviera Maya). The restaurant staff were very attentive and the breakfast was good. They made us a to go meal on our last day. There is no other choice for meals in the area, so you need a car if you want to eat elsewhere. Taxis were $400-450 Mex pesos for a one way ride to the nearest village. You get 1 bottle of water……

“Las fotos no le hacen justicia al lugar, es simplemente hermoso. Nos toco un cuarto precioso frente a la piscina en el segundo piso pero la primera noche fue incómodo por que teniamos un sliding door sin cortinas y el agua tenia un olor feo. El dueño fue muy atento, nos cambio de cuarto y el resto de los dias fueron perfectos. Disfrutamos de la piscina, tenemos fotos muy lindas y estabamos cerca de todo. Lo recomiendo si busca tranquilidad.”
