“Despite a frequent problem in all the resorts with Seaweed issues this time of year… the staff did a good job removing as much and often as possible. The food is excellent, The property is lovely. We have been to Barcelo Riviera Maya Palace numerous times. This was our first time to stay at the adults only location. We will definitely come again and again. Very safe and relaxing.”

“This was our second stay at Barcelo Maya Palace. We love having so many options and being able to play at each of the resort's pools, water slide parks, and beaches. The resort's location is also so nice and close to the Xplor and Xel-ha parks. One disappointment this visit was we weren't able to get a reservation at the teppanyaki restaurant, even thought we inquired when we were checking in.”

“Casino on property is very outdated with old slot machines. Very small square footage with very dark lighting. Tables are limited to about 6 total. Must pay a 7 percent fee on winnings on tables above what you bought in for. If you have losing receipts, you can claim them as a loss up until your same amount of winnings in order to not pay taxes on. Slot machines are a different deal all together. You go to the counter, give them amount you want to play, and they put a amount on a card for the……

“Loved the food, came here for the second time. Restaurant wait times took up to 40 minutes, but worth the wait. Excellent cocktails, espresso martinis and whiskey sours. Overall an excellent authentic Mexican experience ”

“Very disappointed with this resort. I chose it based on reviews that did not match reality. The rooms were clean, but the bathrooms were very outdated. There was no visible security, guests were fighting around 2–3 AM after parties, and no staff came to check on them, which felt unsafe and disrupted sleep. The beach also had no security. Buffet food was limited, soups were overly salty, and items were not refilled if you came later. Not suitable for a relaxing vacation—more of a party place.……

“This was the nicest resort I’ve ever stayed at. It takes all inclusive to a new level of luxury. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and chose a room with a swim up balcony. 100% worth it. Having your own private place to take a dip was wonderful. And our room was constantly checked up on and refreshed. We enjoyed couples massage, which was also perfect. The spa experience was comprehensive and pampering in the best way. I utilized the gym, which has everything I needed and then some!……

“Great, clean unit with a fully equipped kitchen and the AC worked flawlessly. Only issue is the pool is a bit of a walk away at a restaurant a few buildings over. The sargassum situation was much earlier and much worse than usual. There was no way to swim from the hotels beach and they stated they couldn't clear the beach due to it being a turtle nesting area. ”
